<div class="IPBDescription">Remember Hocky, becuse I forgot...</div>So, I turn on the TV and watched a bit of game 4, which I had no idea about, and I just watched the last period of game 5. The Anaheim Mighty Ducks won.
Yea, after that NHL strike, I kind of forgot about hockey. It used to b the only sport I sort of followed. Anyway, take that Canada!

hockey still lives?
when will that sport die off for good. lol ( i myself love it )
but its a simple fact, is ratings and turn outs arent HUGE.
Baseball is another dying sport IMO, ive even heard on news stations about how baseballs ratings and turnouts with people going to watch the games have decreased over the years.
The only sport that seems to be thriving very very well, and doing awesome for itself is football.

edit: speaking sport wise in the US that is.
Hockey's the only sport I can really stand watching. My roomate got me into it in college but I haven't kept up with it since then. I'm suprised its not more popular world wide as I see a lot parallels between it and soccer (as far as pace, positioning, and amount of goals).

Ice isn't much of a universal resoucre unlike somewhat plain areas of solid ground. A ball is much easier to find than skates, sticks and maybe a full set of protective gear. Why hockey isn't that popular in USA I don't know.
Hockey is great btw.

VERY good points <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
If they stopped striking every 3 years maybe they'd get a new fan base.
I think I've also discovered the secret of soccer and its popularity, but I'm not sure.
