More game ad time! I found this gem on the Steam site recently: Ghost Master.

You control various ghosts in different locations and try and scare people usually. Sometimes you need to make them find dead bodies or other puzzle-like tasks. The game is puzzlish in nature, but some levels are just pure 'scare the crap out of everyone' which can be done in very fun ways (freeze people, throw stuff around, bury them in the ground and so forth). it's a few years old, but still looks decent. It also had really good reviews across the board.

But what got me was the price. Right now it's $3.95 US (regular $4.95). It's about time someone put a game on steam for a price like this. It may not be Half-Life in scope or length, but for that price, I have easily gotten my money's worth and I'm barely into the game. This is more a 'support the game maker for having some sense and stones to price the game like they did' post <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

You know I was talking to KFDM about this a few days ago. Considering that when Steam came out, it was hated by most Half Life players and generally buggy and annoying, it has now become almost disturbingly awesome, and shows no signs of becomming less awesome.

I am waiting for the day when they start selling movies via steam. Can you imagine that? It'd be awesome. Streaming or downloadable movie / tv show content. Legally. For a lower cost than DVDs cost in the store.

Also I remember beying hyped about Ghost Master back when it came out, but I never bought it (can't remember why but probably simply because I didn't have enough money). But for $4, hell yeah.

You can find people that hate anything. I like Steam because you can buy a game and have it anywhere without worrying about losing discs. Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, Half-Life and all its sequels, expansions, and mods, Day of Defeat: Source, Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45, etc: all these games will forever be mine, no matter what happens to my discs, my computer, anything.

Unless they nuke Valve. But I'd die from that too so yeah.

Good thing about steam is that the games will probably never become rare or hard to find.

While some games can easily be bought from Ebay or so for a small amount, some games which are rare just cost a lot. $100-120 used and $300-400 just for a new package(Valkyrie Profile example).
