    Did that mean after each kill you said "GOLLY GOOD SHOW OLD CHAP, SAY WHAT!" and then treated your victim to a fine bit of crumpets and tea? :3

    I remember once I was at laser quest with my stalker and the dummy shouted 'sorry' every time he shot someone... I just about strangled him because he constantly followed me while doing it, meaning I ended up with everyone in the whole arena firing in my general direction :p

    Aaaanyhoo, I guess this just goes to prove that NS's offtopic still has some of the nicer regulars :D

    Meh, if taking the Jetpacks out of Starsiege: Tribes, covering the battlefield in molasses, and replacing all the guns with some variation of the chaingun is your thing, then yes, it looks fun. Otherwise, blaaaaah.

    Shouldn't high pressure increase the freezing point rather than lower it? It increases the boiling point, that much I know. Or is it just water being a really weird substance yet again?

    In fact, if I'm reading that chart you have there right, it states that the freezing point increases along with pressure.

    You are correct, water is being a really weird substance yet again. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink-fix.gif" />

    As water is the only (?) substance that increases in volume as temperature decreases between 4 and 0 degrees Celsius, you can basically see it as if you're reversing the increase in volume that happens as water turns to ice. In reality, that's probably miles from what's really going on, but nevermind that.

    If you just look at the "Liquid water" block of the chart, you can see that as pressure increases, the border from liquid water to an ice form lowers, so that it maintains its liquid form at lower temperatures. After a certain point the freezing point increases though.

    There's far too many snowbound anime girls with mittens in this thread now; we were going at a nice pace with 1 picture (+/- 1 picture do to rounding) and it just leaps up exponentially. Also, what do mittens have to do with cold temperatures, you can use mittens to take hot things out of an oven too, you know?
