So i saw ns maps build on hl2 engine i know there will be ns2 soon or not so soon i whant to know is there any way to build a maps for ns2 ? whit all enitie And tell me all about ns2 maps and source maps and that all kid of staff.
Not currently. Before we can start making maps for NS2 we must wait for the NS2 Technology Release (NS2TR), which will supply the basic entities we need to use for an NS2 map on the Half-Life 2 engine and some starting textures and props.

<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Directed at the NS devs: Is there any reason that an HL2:DM .rmf/.map will not work in NS2?<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->It's just a guess, but I don't think they can recode the engine to work with another map format. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" /> I do hope the player sizes will remain the same though.
HL2 uses vmf as its' format and not rmf but anything that can be loaded into hammer I would imagine would work in NS2 however you would likely need to update/add some NS specific entities.

It should be quite easy to make a map and use HL2DM or CS:S or DOD:S to test it out in, you will just have to edit the entities and maybe make some adjustments to the architecture once you know the units size for the players and models etc, oh and edit the name of the map from cs_ns2test to ns_ns2test or whatever prefixes they will be using.
Is there any difference in size between cs characters and cs:s characters? If not, there probably won't be much difference between NS and NS2 sizes. If there is, maybe working out the relevant increase may work....
Once you have built your map in HL2DM or whatever, then the NS2TR is done, you can just edit as neccesary. No reason not to practice source mapping anyway....
<u>Question</u>..
What's the max number of light styles that can be used on a single face in source? I was trying to make some interesting lighting animation for lava, like the old electric fires used to make when they were impersonating log fires, but with 6 difference appearances it told me too many light types on face...
