    Don't play games last thing before bed, it'll most likely add to your insomnia. Read a book or relax and listen to music.

    Oh, my sleep schedule is already totally ruined by it. Don't worry. My sleep schedule flips itself 3-4 times a week.

    With a bad PC? Solder something and see what happens. Or even over clock the CPU by 200%.

    Sleep is over-rated imho. If you find however that your body requires it:<ol type='1'><li>retire at the same time every night</li><li>don't eat within 3-4 hours of bedtime</li><li>no tv in the bedroom</li><li>no caffeine 3-4 hours before bedtime</li></ol>If you lie in bed for say, 30 minutes and you cannot fall asleep, get back up and stay up until you're tired enough to try again.

    Watch HBO?

    Er... I usually goto an all-night diner and drink six cups of coffee. Clears things right up. Have I mentioned that my eyes have been bloodshot for three weeks now?

    I usually go to sleep between 3 and 5 am, and then it usually takes me between 15 and 60 minutes to fall asleep. It's not even that it's necessarily all that hard to sleep, but I like thinking about stuff, and I - in 21 years - have yet to find an effective way of 'turning my mind off'. It'll be like "yay, sleep" and then "A zombie survival game would be sweet...[commence 30 minutes of thinking of a game involving running around a city where the only goal is surviving as long as possible and getting food and shelter to do it while avoiding the undead hordes in some sort of modern, hi-tech rogue-like...or something]".

    Sometimes I get the "maybe I'll do [blank] tomorrow" and then there's tons of possibilities. Maybe my mind is just hyper-active. It's like controllable ADD or something (as in, I can't stop thinking about stuff...as long as there is stuff, I'm set).

    There's also the crazy thought chains like "ooh sleep...I wonder how old this bed is...I remember sleeping on a water bed once...when's the last time I went swimming?...why haven't I ever seen a live shark in person?...I wonder if a shark ever fought a dinosaur...Jurassic Park was a sweet movie...Sam Neill was good in JP, but kind of iffy in Event Horizon...What would it be like to take dictation for Stephen Hawking?...I bet Einstein could take down Hawking if he wasn't a pacifist...pacifiers help babies sleep...Babies suck..."

    Anyway, 1AM? Pffft, go draw pictures or something, play Dwarf Fortress, play pre-2000 games (Age of Empires 2, Tropico, SimCity 3000, Alpha Centauri/Civ2, Half-Life, Fallout, Aliens versus Predator, Grim Fandango (...never actually played that one, but people like it...) ...all of these old games are capable of running on a 500 Mhz processor with 128mb of RAM and an 8MB video card (often less).

    1am.. that's usually when i start reading some book or epic manga. next thing i know, it's 5am <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
    multiplayer games can keep me up for days at a time.
    i got away with having a messed up sleep schedule during school but my family thinks i'm lazy if i'm sleeping while they are awake during the summer. i used to go to sleep at like 6pm when my classes ended and sleep until like 12am

    Melatonin 1 hour before you want to go to bed is great for turning the schedule back to normal.

    When it comes to thinking about stuff while lying in bed, I always try to imagine stuff that could have been in a dream. Sometimes those thoughts transcend into dreams.

    What is this 1 am stuff?

    First off, I feel like explaining the education system in belgium for no particular reason but to not make you wonder what I'm talking about in my actual explanation.

    <u>Preschool (3y):</u>
    We can take this from the age of 2.5, but aren't required to do so. There's only 3 grades and it's mainly to have kids learn to express themselves better etc. I was allowed to skip a grade (effectively taking every year a year earlier for the rest of my school career), but my mom didn't let me :/

    <u>Primary school (6y):</u>
    Ages 6-12, nothing out of the ordinary. First mostly reading, writing, basic maths, religion, music, etc; later on more biology, history etc and also french from the 5th year)

    <u>Secondary school: (6y)</u>
    Ages 12-18, but very distinctly split into three groups of 2 years. Everything also gets split into four types of education (with different choices in each of them as well): ASO (general) , TSO (technical), BSO (vocational) and KSO (art). Here's an example of ASO.

    <!--c1--><div class='codetop'>CODE</div><div class='codemain'><!--ec1-->year    1 + 2      3 + 4             5 + 6

    ASO --> Modern --> Science --------> Science + Languages
                               --------> Science + Math(6hr)
                               --------> Science + Math(8hr)
                               --------> Languages + Math
                   --> Economy --------> Economy + Languages
                               --------> Economy + Math
                               --------> Economy + Science
        --> Latin ---> Latin ----------> Latin + Math
                             ----------> Latin + Science
                             ----------> Latin + Languages
                  ---> Latin + Greek --> Latin + Greek + Math
                                     --> Latin + Greek + Languages
                                     --> Latin + Greek + Science<!--c2--></div><!--ec2-->
    Now, I took the upper things, but I got bored mid-5th year. So I switched to TSO (which is more specific, but in general easier, it has stuff like languages alone in stead of combined with something). I took 1.5 year of informatics and graduated, whoop dee doo.
    SO, YAY, MULTIMEDIA AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY...ONLY...NOT.
    180 spots, all full. Kthxbye. I could take other informatics stuff but they weren't be sure if I could not have those courses the year after while taking MCT. Also: my mom's single without alimony and earns too much to get a scholarship. So, no can do for another extra year.

    NOW, WHERE I WAS GETTING TO: Last year during informatics, I went to sleep at 3 am in the week (got up at 7:30). Now when doing nothing I go to sleep at 6 am (get up at 1-3pm).

    Come to think of it, why <i>did</i> I explain all of that. Oh well, Maybe somebody cared <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

    edit: and I usually fall asleep in <10 minutes

Then my heartbeat goes faster. Sometimes, my body actually falls asleep, but I'm still thinking and awake. I wish I was one of those normal muggles.

    Oh and to Test: Play jumper. Ogmo will devour your soul!
