<div class="IPBDescription">I need some input from you guys</div>Hey everyone,

I'm trying to make some high-level decisions about NS2 and to help me make better decisions, I want to interview some of you folks. I think the interview will take about 20 minutes and it will mostly consist of me asking you about why and how you play games. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" /> This is a little bit like the survey we released awhile back but is a bit more qualitative.

<b>Who I'm looking for:
I've completed the first round of interviews and now I need a new demographic. Now I'm looking a) folks outside of North America (especially Korea and China), b) people that play in cybercafes, and c) players that are over the age of 30 or female.</b> I have a feeling that these people are going to be hard to reach in a timely manner via a forum post like this but I'll try.

I am currently <b>ONLINE</b> and interviewing (plenty of folks to talk to right now).

1. Run the <a href="http://dl.google.com/googletalk/googletalk-setup.exe" target="_blank">Google Talk Client</a>.

The interviews will be recorded but will just be for my own use.     Yeah I'll keep doing this for a few days I'm sure, at least until I'm just hearing the same stuff over and over.

    Sounds like fun. You might consider making the calls later on in the day, as many gamers (especially the older ones) have somewhat inverted sleeping patterns.

    I would, but I don't think opinions like "I play to improve, be challenged by other players, and basically win" is gonna help your design decisions much :/

    I'd love this opportunity also; as former NS classic server op, competitive player and regular pubber I think it would be productive. Hope to get a call, and it's cool that you don't give the questions in advanced so people can't whip up prefab responses.

    Thanks so much for you time and help. I've interviewed 9 folks so far, including: exoity, Jmms, Scaryface, Firewater, MasterPTG, k9black, ahnteis, Obraxis and radix007. Let's just say I don't think I need any more input from clanners. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" /> Great stuff, but now I'm hearing mostly the same stuff. Got it!

    So if you're not in your late teens or early twenties, enrolled at college, super-competitive and super-good at NS, I'd like to hear from you. Surely there are some folks outside the U.S. who are older or younger that I can talk to?

    Yeah I'm in the early 20s, non-competitive, not particulary good and living outside the US category. Downside that that is that you're usually asleep when I'm usually online!

    I'm 19 and I'm French (don't worry, I don't have a crappy accent) I did play competitively, but I figured out that wasn't for me and now I'm a simple pubber (I don't play that often, but I played since forever and I never really stop)

    I'd love to be interviewed, I'm probably one of the only 14 year old here who regularly posts. I'm a pubber, i suck like Haze <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />, and I've been playing this game since I was young (about 10 I think, but shhhh, noone is supposed to know that).

    Now if only I can get enough unlazyness to download google chat client and add you... I wonder if other chatting clients like MSN work or not....

    You may want to consider having someone go online to the servers and find people to interview that way. Most of the people who will be reading this will fall into the serious/semi-serious crowd, casual players aren't likely to be reading the forums.

    Yes, If you're looking for 'casual' players, check out IAM's school of darwinism. Those guys, are mostly VERY casual/fun people.     I'll add you later today. Hopefully I have a different view of the game, having never played competitively and having played on a single NS server, with the same group for 100 or so people for the 2 years I played NS. (South Africa doesn't have a lot of online gamers... yet)

    Might be able to give some insight into the social aspect of NS, which is what has made it the most memorable gaming experience I've had.
