Detailed Problem Description: Solution ID # 10874 would work EXCEPT, the option to control the flexijack mode is DISABLED in the drivers for the X-Fi XtremeGamer. It's basically not letting me manually turn "digital I/O" off and "mic/line in" on. This really sucks. I told you already if I'm not mistaken what the two devices are that could pratically cause any 60Hz AC EMI: a battery backup (Geek Squad 900W\1500VA) and a nice quality Antec power supply (650W). It is abolutely not the battery backup. The power supply is fairly close, the sound card is 2cm away from the exterior of it's casing, right where the fan pulls the air down into it (since the Antec 900 case has the PSU mounted upside down and at the bottem back corner of the case, actually a far better cooling design and easier cable access. At the top of the case is the 200mm fan) There are no aliens or unusual cosmic rays here, sorry. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

I understand that your option to adjust the flexijack settings is greyed out, presumably because you don't have a driver. It's not because you don't have a driver, Neil, but rather that you DO have an XtremeGamer that is the problem.
Before you were able to send in the email form, you should have been asked a series of questions regarding your problem, ultimately ending up in a few suggestions from our knowledge base. Were these suggestions helpful at all, or were they not relevant to your issue? Some of the information given to you in this may be repeated, as it is important to the troubleshooting process.
The actual reason that your flexijack settings are greyed out is because rather than having a flexijack akin to, say, the other X-fi models, the one on the XtremeGamer is an optical output, and is always enabled. That is to say that the option to change this is going to be greyed out, no matter what you do. I would suggest returning this card to your place of purchase, and picking up another X-fi series card, if the optical output poses a problem for you.
