Steam will not reconsie NS

<div class="IPBDescription">I have already tried reinstalling</div>I have done the following twice and in different order

Down loaded the latest verson of steam and NS 3.2.
Installed both on my PC under C/program files/Steam and C/program files/ns

Still not NS on steam. Do i have to down load someing else. Is NS 3.2 just the upgrade from 3.1 i.e do I have to down load an earlier verson and then upgrade?

What can i do if i only hav CS on steam.....cuz i cant get it to show up

You need to have Half-Life installed in order to play NS.

so if i just have counter strike retail....i cant play?

They run on the same engine, you should have HL and the ability to play all the mods. Try putting the NS folder where Ahnteis indicated.
