HL2 requirements

Currently, the only computer i have that i can use for gaming is my laptop (1.66ghz core duo, 1gb ram)
however, it only has Intel 945GM Express integrated graphics. This is good enough to run ns and anything hl1, but I want to know what kind of fps i will get running hl2 on this (or if it will even run). I don't expect a miracle, but hope for at least 20-30 fps at lowest resolution/settings. Does anyone know how it will run?

The reason i ask is because i want to starting mapping on hl2 and the new NS2 FAQ says that NS2TR is scheduled for the end of the month. I had hoped that i would be able to afford to build a decent desktop by the time the TR came out, but the devs just had to work fast.

Also, out of curiosity, since NS2 is supposed to have similar requirements as hl2: episode 1 (according to the faq) what kind of fps would i expect for ep1? Again, i dont expect miracles. I used to play ns at a steady 15 fps on my older, even crappier pc <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" /> Again, my main reason for running it right now is for mapping.

Crappy performance. You *might* be able to get it playable, but I doubt it.

I cannot stress this next part enough...

You will be INCREDIBLY lucky to even get HL2 to run at about 5fps, even on the lowest settings. The CPU isn't the issue, neither is the RAM. But Intel 945 graphics just will not cut it for modern games.
Playing a Goldsrc (Half-Life based) game on that will be fine, but anything more than that, and it's going to splutter, and die.

Basically, if you want to be playing NS2, then you *are* going to need a new system to play it on. Just a homebuilt one will get you playing it for about £400, give or take. Give a little if you want a 17" LCD as well..
