<div class="IPBDescription">points awarded</div>One of the main probs with combat is that when camped you can fail to spend hard earned points as you die before you get the chance.
Suggest that you can upgrade while dead instead.

1. If one team gets some early momentum its easier for the other team to fight back
2. If your camped you can select abilities

Second option is to preset your next point in the comand menu so as soon as you earn it you get it.

A thrid feature is cash in points that you have already spent so as the battle requirements change so do you. Basicly while dead you could cash in 1-4 points at a time. However there would have to be some penaltys and or restrictions. Forstarters after setting a mine you could not use the cashed in point until

1. All mines set by you had exploded and
2. You had died and respawned.

The thrid suggestion is the weakest but it makes no sense to have mines when you are fighting onos that don't even feel them.

good ideas, i dont really play much combat, but this would make it more enjoyable. i love the idea of cashing in old upgrades as the game changes, just as long as the changes dont happen until you respawn.

i dont think the waiting time should count as gestation time, if someone chooses to be a higher lifeform, you should egg as soon as you spawn, if you chose that lifeform while waiting. if that means your egg gets fried by a camping rine, then its your fault for being impatient and not starting as a skulk and biting him....

I like the idea of cashing in old upgrades as well, specifically, cloakers won't feel completely ripped off once one marine gets scan area.

Being able to get abilities while being camped would lessen the thing I hate most - being shotgunned repeatedly as I spawn.
