<div class="IPBDescription">we seem to be about 50%</div>Today seems to have been a big day for people changing over to 3.2 from what I've seen, and I guess I've done my share of spreading the news.
I downloaded it myself and told several of my friends who are admins or regulars on other servers. Some of these regulars simply didn't know about the new version, didn't even know there was a new version.
Then I ran a listen server for them all to test it out. It was just like old times. We even got one of those classic powerstuggles that lasted for an hour on ns_tanith. It ended up that I had to turn on all talk and ask the crowd if we would like to call this one a tie. (were talking about about dozens of JP's and HA's going down in total and several onii and hives going down which were promptly crushed and taken back) It would have been nice if we could have had more people on. With about 400-ish structures spammed on ns_tanith I think my server would have been just fine. lol
Most think the new crosshair sprites suck, espeically the ones for aliens, but most of the new ones sprites look great. Some complaints that marines are a tad too strong in a 1v1 fight.
Other than that, the new version was met with compliments. Ghost stuctures seem to have been an immediate hit with the people who I talked and played with. The lerk changes don't seem too bad. The map, ns_machina, is now my new favorite map (up with the old ns_bast, ns_hera, and ns_shiva). The detail on that map is amazing! The map, ns_lucid, is good too and I like how both maps have curvy achitecture that is skulk friendly and high entropy. (you can get around well) Onos knockback and health boost had everyone saying that the onos has gotten a little bit of it's fear back.
There are however a big bugs with plugins from 3.1 running on 3.2 is seems. For example, there was a problem with WhitePanther's ExtraLevels 3 (aka. "/xmenu") working correctly in combat. It seems that after lvl 5 there is a bug where it shows max level when you aren't and if your are alien and gestate for an xmenu upgrade you'll be stuck as an egg. (you never come back to your lifeform). AMXX in general runs perfect from a metamod-p base but a few things like that need to be worked out. Oh and the awards plugin doesn't seem to be showing like it should. I don't know why.
So just saying I think you'll be seeing a lot more 3.2 servers soon and I guess I'd appreciate feedback and help from the community with fixing the bugs in the popular plugins so they work correctly in 3.2

Thanks for getting the word out that 3.2 is released! My Steam Server list suggests that 1/3rd of servers are still running 3.1.3 or even earlier.
It is my current favorite map right up there with ns_hera and the ol' ns_bast with the cool rotating door. We actually played it twice in a row so we could all try it from the other team's perspective.
The only thing the could be improved would be to clip some areas of the ceiling to make them smoother for skulks and perhaps some more sophisticated "secret" places to wall-walk or fly. Maybe more entropy but as I told the people on my server it's far superior to have an open, high entropy map with hundreds of different possible paths to take. I don’t think it’s worth editing though, just keep entropy and smoothness in mind for your next map! (I want to explore more!)
I also hope people take a lesson on the wow factor of the subtle and sharp aesthetics and exteriors. Most maps you feel boxed in and they leave no room to the imagination. Humans play these games. The human mind likes to explore (or at least feel like you can). Right when you enter the readyroom you get wowed with a spectacular view. There are even details like unique _func moveables (wheee), subtle eerie noises (opposed to annoying and/or loud ones or none at all), and good use of masked textures to make a much more "natural" look to the hives (not to mention great hiding spots which so few maps have anymore for any mod). I actually don't know how I missed this map. I've probably been too busy to pay attention the content creation aspect of this community. It was a nice surprise that snuck up on me. I like those. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
Little do these people know that we are trying to escape out the back door <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
Would be a shame to see servers with the largest populations lose people over having to cut down max allowable players in game due to a new patch. I'm sure steps can be made to rememdy some of the balance changes the devs have felt the need to do for smaller servers.
I cant speak for combat or extra level play as I dont do that but for straight ns 3.2 has definetly changed the game, mostly by making the servers larger than 20 players turn hugely unbalanced.

I'd still wait a while before making anything decisive. After people have learned the blink and +movement the difference should be less obivious. Almost every new version has been imbalanced at first and then a bit more balanced as people learn the new gameplay.
But in servers that have a limit of 18 or so work fantastically. Some of the best games I've ever played were during that beta, and I know I haven't been playing it too long, only a year or so, but I play it enough. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
Well done.
all you have to do is rename your folder to ns to see the servers, like name ns to ns.32 and install 3.1 as ns and servers will show up

Actually, 3.1 clients will be able to see 3.2 servers, and 3.2 clients can see 3.1 servers. You try and connect, and it will give you the fabled cl_dll error.
But still, after a new version, both servers and players will take some time to update to the new version.
Only the habitual and competitive players will update instantly, as will the larger servers with the more active admins. After that, you get a gradually slowing influx of players to the new version, which then dies down to new installers, and old players.
I would also really appreciate help in fixing the plugins for AMXX in 3.2 and the awards plugin. I wish I knew what to do to port the awards plugin into a .sma file with the correct syntax to be compiled into an .amxx file. Is anybody here an AMXX coding expert? The documentation on the web for this stuff is horrible.

What are you talking about? I usually play only on 18-24 slots servers... the game is fine, sometimes marines wins, sometimes aliens wins.....
22-24 person servers gets more sided towards marines and when you move up to guns the 30 person server it's pretty much marines stack fest since no one wants to play aliens with that many people using the same res pool on top of the alien nerfs from 3.2
same <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/nerd-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::nerdy::" border="0" alt="nerd-fix.gif" />
btw someone made a really good balance thread might want to post in there if you have an opinion

P.S. what was the point of this thread?
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
What's the point of that question? The point of the thread is that x5 is trying to get people to play 3.2, and is providing some information on how much of the community still plays 3.1 vs 3.2.
