I think it would be nice to have a commander-esque way of placing chambers. If you're a gorge and you're trying to drop a chamber, you could be able to see a ghost model of the chamber and move it around to put it just where you want.
Also, has anyone thought about the possibility of being able to build chambers on walls/ceilings? I'm not sure if something like that would work too well, but lets hear some thoughts on it?

if they can implement it, and still keep the gorges rapid building, i'd be fine with that.
it sounds more suited to the idea of placing dynamic hives, if they decide to include dynamic hives in ns2 (placing hives any where on the map where they will fit)
while i admire your artistic tallent chuckers, i fail to understand the drawing's relevance to the discussion...
yeah i'd still prefer to be able to plonk down 3 oc's and a dc in rapid sucession, than selecting an oc ghost, dropping it, oc ghost, dropping it, oc ghost, dropping it etc etc....

As for the hives. It sounds nice but it would be better to just have 2-3 locations in each room where the hive could go and then a limit to how close the next hive will be.
However, I like the fact the marines can relocate to a hive to limit the aliens. If dynamic hives are made then this strat will be very limited.

misere's right, at the moment its just hot key, hot key, hot key....
i think the "ghost" feature would only be good for new players. anyone that has played it for a while knows exactly where the chamber will be placed when they hit the hot key, and dont need to plan the placement.
maybe they could just toggle this option on/off?
you can cycle through them by pushing the 5 key (or whatever you bind to slot 5) multiple times
when you hit 5, a ghost chamber appears, then you click (shoot button) to drop it.
