hive alpha textures

<div class="IPBDescription">don't work?</div>I'm tying to use the hivealpha1 and 2 textures in ns.wad in my map but I can't get them to work. I have them set to render mode solid fx amount 255, which works fine for grates in the wad but not these textures. Is it because they don't have the { prefix?

    Roger dodger. Using Wally (links in one of those sticky threads in the help forum), I simply copied these textures to my own custom .wad with proper naming. (I also made sure that all the blue was rgb 0 0 255 or 254 or whatever... I think there are textures that had the wrong colour or something, forget how that all works.) Did it a looong time ago so I can't remember the details. Just put it in your own wad or it won't work for everyone else.

    It surprises me that all these years I don't recall seeing a .wad released with fixed textures like that. Something ns2.wad should have had, since the problems were known by then.

    I think the problem was that the file was just named wrong, it needed the { prefix. There is another problem in that they didn't add the blue at the very end so there is antialiasing which makes it not pure blue, and therefore not transparent. Anyone want to fix that? I guess you would need the original file for it to work right. I might just try painting blue over the messed up areas.

    For me, those infested textures work pretty fine, try render mode texture... Copying those textures is a pretty dirty solution

    Oh, I'm way, way to lazy. I figure it's good for folks to be comfortable with Wally and working with textures anyway.

    Well, I modified mine you see. Basically cut it in half so as to make it more of something you'd hang from the ceiling like (since that's how I wanted to use it for moira), so it's no longer the same texture anyway.
