<div class="IPBDescription">we've all had em before</div>Over the past few weeks or so I have experienced what seems like alot of angry comms. Sometimes its funny to hear them yell their tonsils out but I mean sheesh, whats with comms these days? I jump in the chair every now and then but I dont resort to kicking and screaming to keep people in line. Its a pub for Gods sake. Anyway, does anyone else have any angry comm stories/rantings? Or maybe a video of an angry comm in action. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/marine.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::marine::" border="0" alt="marine.gif" />

If you're one of the few people who are doing what the comm is asking, then good job, keep doing it. If you are one of the people who keep getting yelled at each time, I hope you die in a fire.

I am the angry commander. I scream and rant and rave because it is the only way to get my team to pay attention to me. Generally, you have a few people who have a decent idea of what to do and do their best to achieve their given mission. Then you have the rest of the team that wanders around aimlessly like headless chickens and only manages to get anything done by pure coincidence. These are the people refuse to leave a hive even when you tell them you don't want it locked down, the people who grab a shotgun, spend a minute loading up fully on ammo, rambo off and die without getting anything done, then respawn and ask for another shotgun.

lmao. Thats rage.
I prefer Deimos rage because it lasts for sometimes up to an hour.
The commander does have his tasks of upgrading, informing, med packing plus ammo, and dropping structors.
Marines job to build the stuff dropped, kill, and push.
Now if the marines are not killing, building, or pushing where does that leave the commander?
oh just get used to it. the comm has a nice reason to yell when nobody listen to it and he knows that his goal is to try his best to guide the team to win.
The moral of the story is, the one game in the past month where I actually bothered to attempt to let the team win (an apathy ive built up recently due to the absolute abhorrent alien behaviour where every game involves me having to do everything, rts, hive, lerk, fade, nme rts, rines, disco) so I got out of that rut and decided to perma gorg for my team and established a strong position... only for 1 guy on my team to basically destroy everything I tried to do. moral: dont try, absolute waste of time.
Id put that maybe 5 echelons and a universe above moaning about an angry comm? :/
IE. Just because a commander won't upgrade armor weapons 2 and give you shotguns even if you all ask for them doesn't mean he is abusing his power, he obviously has a different game plan. It might be bad commanding, it might be good commanding. However if a commander won't build resource towers or does nothing but waste resources on say, 5 comm chairs over the level then he is abusing the power he has and calls for an eject.
Don't know if I make sense although it seems people are just ejecting bad commanders, who will only become good commanders if you let them make mistakes, play differently and develop theirselves. It's only the players abusing the command position you should eject instead.

On Pub games, no one expects too much out of you, so it doesn't really matter what you do.
On your regular server where people know you, the regs will respect you and follow orders. (Or realize your a perma-nub comm. Whichever.)
In a Clan game, likewise, your marines know you and will respect you (hopefully).
Ah, but in a PUG game? The marines don't know you, don't respect you, and each one thinks he's the greatest vet since terror and exi, so every time you give an order or spend some res you get 4 marines telling you why thats a dumb move and you should do something else. So you get terrible teamwork, but at least you can hope they're good shots. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
I got ejected the other day because I did my usual upgrade strat with pgs at 4 mins, but I was ejected about 3 minutes in. Then the entire rest of the game we finished with lvl 2 guns and lvl 1 armor, the upgrades that I got before the eject.
[edit] Oh god I forgot this one. I had 3-3 upgrades and HA HMG running around, but my whole team was ###### and moaning that I didnt know what I was doing because I never got hand nades. Why are people so hung up on hand nades. I get especially ###### when i'm upgrading the amory and they whine about hand nades.[edit]
One thing all pub marines know how to do is get beaconed, prime hand nades, and jump through a pg. So having the obs up first with pg getting researched lets them keep at least 1 hive, maybe a 2 hive lockdown if they have even 2 decent marines to go and secure the second hive. If not beacon and have them rush the other hive en masse while leaving 1-2 marines at the other hive with mines around the pg for when the 2 gaurding the first hive invariably shoot all their bullets into the ceiling and ground and get owned by 1 skulk.
Did I miss anything? 2 hive lockdown = boring game but easy win, cap the rest of the map, tech up, win button.
Arms lab first if you even have 3-4 marines on your team who you know can aim, they'll carry the rest to victory.
edit - the guy with 2 obs was hawthorne <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
so funny.
raging comms makes me want to cooperate less than, social non tripping ######s that actually enjoy playing a game on a pub server.
ofcourse its ###### frustrating having ppl never listen to you.
but do you seriously think that only happens in games on the internet?
no
get over it.
its pub play.
The most horrible is people who are crying because there is no comm then ejecting you because they think you are bad cause you didn't search any upgrades (only because you had to wait 3 minutes before one guy realize he should maybe build the arms lab...)

Or that they should have BUILT the RT's instead of running by them!!!
