It's a little past its prime for me; hours and hours and hours of playing it are enough, as it were. I'm just waiting for Hellgate: London.

I play it a lot, but not on battle net. Really sucks when your hardcore character is level 78 and some German teenager thinks he's clever by killing you in town.

An awesome game for lan parties however. No experience necessary, and you can play with just one hand so you can still enjoy a drink. Or do... Other stuff?

On a completely unrelated note, I think the assassin is hot.

Used to play it alot. But when you don't play it for what is it - 3 months and they erase your account (in my case lvl 90-100 sorc, amazon, barbarian, and necromancer) you sort of lose your will to continue to play it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />

I would but I lost my original CD+LoD. I don't feel like paying for the same game the THIRD time (lost it once before).

Forget Diablo 2, play Titan Quest.

Played it long time ago(Near release).

I made many characters, but one that I found quite fun was my necromancer.

It was my 4th or 5th necro and I built the skills just for cow runs. I maxed out corpse explosive, revive monster, golems, summon mastery(or was it skeleton mastery, it also affected revive monster), and some of the curses to help.

It was built for cow levels, it was going good till the 1.10 patch came and ruined cow runs. No one did cow levels anymore, there used to be so many cow runs going on at a time but now no one does it anymore because it isn't worth it as much.

I used to have a summon necromancer. Maxed out revive, skeleton mastery, and fire golem, and was working on corpse explosion when my character got deleted. He was around level 87. I have fond memories of waltzing onto a server with seven other people and creating 25+ minions from the fresh corpses. They would always complain that I was laggin the game, but they liked having me around. I remember once playing with a sorceress, she killed a bunch of those spectres (you know, the ones that were immune to physical damage) and I revived them. We both then went to kill Duriel, and neither of us took a scratch. Good times.

Titan Quest is basically what Diablo 2 would be like if it took what frame rate you ought to get and chopped it in half.

HG:L looked good, until they showed off the gameplay videos, dreadful. The weapons were silly as hell, AI had basicly "follow players path and attack randomly" in it, and a swinging sword which beat em up like it was a baseball bat instead of dismembering.

On topic, Diablo got old way too fast for me. I prefer something like Sacred.

If you ever watch a gameplay video of Diablo 2, you notice that it's dreadfully boring. I'm thinking HG:L will be similar.
