those shots are sharpend after sizing down, becuase I run either at 1024x786 or 1600x1200 (i can't get higher then 60FPS becuase of my refresh rate so doesn't affect me) and I have AA on..
and i'm checking out the chair model right now (i'm able to texture it) and I DO like how you've done it <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> I'll hopefuly get this into game working right soon to show you all!
I don't really have an estimate but I'm back with my computer at home and will work on it over christmasbreak and I hope to get another area done soon!
and about offical maps, I DO hope To get released, I work on it like any other project I've done (you may have heard of c4 softwares DarkTruths, I helped start c4 and DT out and worked on some mapping before I left) and I do think this map will play up to its looks.

One thing I don't like is that the Seige range is pretty fricken huge, So I may again need to adjust the map a bit spacing it out more.

Keep in mind, BITMAP, the siege range has been reduced. And it's always possible to prevent sieges from being built - simply slant the floor (a ramp or alien infestation) or put some water down (flooding from a broken pipe, perhaps).
then your going to kill me when you see the next bit, I re worked that area more blue and red lighting, slowly changing the feeling now though, to a less "happy" place to a more uh **obscenity** somethings wrong, One thing i'm liking is how my lights are not all the same tones, lots of varation is made without as many textures needed.
One thing i think might add some more depth, put a looping music sample in the mess hall, like some country music or something they always seem to have in space movies...

i've added some things, and there are NO flashing lights AT all, actualy the whole map is going to feel very, dead, empty, like people were there, then they wern't.... oops just gave it away <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> Only thing moving actualy is a dish conveyor <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> (needs a model of broken plates at the end) and the particles when they work.

<b>Bitmap</b>, there are a million replies to your thread and I haven't had a chance to read through them all...but I did notice the skymap in the last shot and was just curious if you were interested in a skymap I made for my map - but that I'm not gonna use cause my map will probably never ever get finished...
It's mostly just stars (which is what I can see from your map) but the front and left side have planets... when seen in game...it actually is quite a nice effect...
actualy I have a way of making pretty nice nebulas, so I can take the sky from you (email to the email addy in my sig) and I'll add you to the readme.txt

Subtle variations are good, in the corner you can see the red shining off that little light or the blue from the lamp that breaks up the white light.
But not green pink red yellow.
That is just extreme.
