Virus Problems related to "Registry Cleaner 2.5"

So I got a virus because I was careless, and it was one of those viruses that tells you you need to buy some piece of software to fix your computer. Link to removal instructions.

The software was Registry Cleaner 2.5. And, like a good virus, it blocked several websites. I noticed somewhere it said some sites like Symantec, and Microsoft.

Anyway, using a web proxy, I Googled for some help, and found help on a site called bleepingcomputer.com. So I did what it said, and sure enough, the virus is gone, and all is well. But not quite.

I can get to sites like Microsoft.com, but for some reason, I still can't get to bleepingcomputer.com without using a proxy. It responds to ping, both from my computer and others on the network, and I can access it on other computers, and I can use a proxy to look at it, but if I click on it on google, it thinks for a second, and then does nothing. It happens in both IE and Opera.

I've run a Spybot search, and I'll do a virus scan soon, but I can't figure out whats going on.

Ah, hosts file is what it was. Learn something new every day, I guess.

    Thanks, BM.

    Black mage wins!

Not sure what though. Do a ctrl+F for 'sex' in your registry today! (it will be shocking).
