<div class="IPBDescription">Different chokes for different folks</div>Marines and aliens should have 5-6 different "barks" for each of their vocal options. Alien chuckle should sound a little different each time. Marines would call for health slightly differently each time. Etc. Like in Warcraft 2 when you keep clicking on the people, and their reaction changes.

lol that would be awesome, but i dont think childish stuff like that would fit in the official release of NS2, it should be a lot more sinister and serious, not cheesy or cartoony. maybe someone can make a voicepack mod thingy when its released?<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="???" border="0" alt="confused-fix.gif" />
i know it can be boring hearing the same genereric marine voice run through the 4 or so different medpack scripts, but even if they add more dialogue (and i'm sure they will), it will still get old after a while. most proper gamers use a mic anyways.
i think they shoud make it more dynamic, based on your surroundings, i dont know how hard it would be for the devs to implement, but here's what i think.....
if you are a marine that, lets just say, has been hurt, but theres no aliens nearby (that you know of), when you ask for a med, he says it in a sort of monotone voice
<!--coloro:#FF0000--><span style="color:#FF0000"><!--/coloro-->nsplayer><!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--> medpack!
<!--coloro:#FF0000--><span style="color:#FF0000"><!--/coloro-->nsplayer><!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--> uh, medpack......
<!--coloro:#FF0000--><span style="color:#FF0000"><!--/coloro-->nsplayer><!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--> .....medpack?
<!--coloro:#FF0000--><span style="color:#FF0000"><!--/coloro-->nsplayer><!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--> sigh... medpack.....
if you ask again, and again, he just sounds more bored and bored, coz he's been waiting for ages. he would just be reflecting what you are feeling, waiting for the comm to finally drop you a med... or an RT... or whatever you were asking for. i think the comm should also hear the change in the voice, so he can tell that you have requested the same <!--coloro:#CC0000--><span style="color:#CC0000"><!--/coloro-->&#@$<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--> res point over and over for the last 2 mins!
say you are in an area where you know there is an alien lerking nearby, you either saw the blur of an alien whiz by, or heard one scurrying about in the vent nearby...... you know he's there. The more you ask for a medpack, the more frantic the voice is
<!--coloro:#FF0000--><span style="color:#FF0000"><!--/coloro-->nsplayer><!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--> medpack!
<!--coloro:#FF0000--><span style="color:#FF0000"><!--/coloro-->nsplayer><!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--> uh, medpack!
<!--coloro:#FF0000--><span style="color:#FF0000"><!--/coloro-->nsplayer> <!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--> MEDPACK!!!
<!--coloro:#FF0000--><span style="color:#FF0000"><!--/coloro-->nsplayer> <!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--> MEDPAAAAAAAACCCKK!!!!
ok, here's where my idea gets tricky. i'm not a programmer and dont know much about these sort of things, so bear with me.. but here are a few issues that would have to be overcome.
if you do it based on the proximity of the nearest alien to the marine (sorta like a chamber), and the marine calls for a med etc, he will eventially know that an alien is nearby, because the tone of the voice will change.
you could do it based on sight and sound - if the hitbox of the alien enters the FOV, and depending on how far the sound travels, if the marine is within that range, and if the alien has silence....
i think it would be extremely innovative if the voice of the marine would change based on the surroundings, it would make the game a lot more immersive and interactive. the comm could notice the change in voice, to hilight the emergency. i'm just worried about the way this could effect the gameplay....
please feel free to comment, and excuse me for my drunken ramblings.....
Same for ammo

Alien chunkle ? if the alien is smaller, the chunk is tiny. if the alien is big, like a FADE or an onos, the chunk is HUGE, and harmless.

of course, and a LOT of strategic game have this option. The NS why not ? (-:
If you put any emotion in your voice then you can mess it up and call for the wrong thing, send a false alarm, send a commed when you are chating, and a whole list of thing. It just wouldn't work for muti-player games.
