Ah all those fun old addons to ns1, lerk lift, gorge grappling hook, build menu and xmenu for combat, not likely to happen now, so much potential yet here we are a year on and nope.
-
If those benefiting want it so badly why don't they pay for their own hotel and flights, stop expecting the community to pay for your fun little trip, it's not like we get anything out of it, uwe/competitive guys are taking the **** a bit with their…

Like i said you can make excuses, point out exceptions etc but the fact is ns2 has lost all but it's core of players every time it's had a free weekend or gone on sale, the modding community hasn't had the proper support it deserves as things keep b…

I know how you feel and i think most here do as well, it's a shame to say it but ns2 is in a very sorry state at the moment, the community isn't really to blame and while i don't want to put it all on uwe the fact is they let this happen due to lack…

Wow judging by that it looks like ns2 has only managed to keep a core of players a few times above what we had in beta, going by average, it's basically long time fans who have stuck with the game plus a few hundred they managed to… -
Looking forward to this!

Combat being one of the most popular mods really needs some improvements now and then, it's great you guys continue to keep it running despite uwe making it difficult but please give it some more love, i know build menu was planned a long time ago a…

Such a shame this even affects combat after all the hard work you lot do to prevent it, just know most of us appreciate the work you do to maintain a mod under these conditions, you'd think uwe would be ashamed of their mod support… -
No it's cool not you guys fault, thanks for all the hard work on combat!
Cough *buildmenu*, cough... -
Well it's nice ns2 is a year old and generally feels like it's gotten out of beta but i remember thinking back around release how great it would be in a year, sadly im not feeling it, the lack of players and kind of maps and mods i thought we'd be p…

Yeah i get the feeling there isn't really any more true back and forth communication going on, nothing like we're being heard and them taking right action, i thought hugh was supposed to be all about that but he sounds more like a … -

Hmm this makes sense but is really sad if true. -

I get what you're saying and know everyone works differently but my main point here is if the options are leave that area grey boxed for 6 months or spend a few hours of dropping models to cover the walls, floor, ceiling etc to mak… -
I thought this was going to be an apology for thier over hyping and letting down most of the community, instead it seems they just messed up donations and still want us all to pay for their fun filled trip to Europe, uh no....

I agree uwe need to give more support to the community, maps and mods are one area they claimed ns2 was special yet mods break every update and custom maps hardly get played, partly due to lack of awareness and there being so many incomplete ones or…

I only say it to motivate, it's such a good map that it's a shame to leave one area unfinished for so long when you can get something that looks reasonable in a few hours. -
But it isn't for nothing, it's not much work to add some models, resize, rotate etc, just to get something that looks ok, he may as well, better to spend a few hours and get something that does the job than leave it for 6 months looking boring with …

So anyway what was the point in this then?
-
You lot are missing the point, as i said this is about letting the average player get a chance to play in one of these events, top teams have many times now already, this is giving something back to those donating, it's not about watching the most a…

And you still haven't finished marine start, no offence but how long does it take to slap some textures and place a bunch of models in there? it doesn't have to look amazing but i know this can be done in a few hours if you really … -

Good point, i wonder how those who donated to reinforced feel now knowing that some of their money they put towards improving the game will actually be going towards giving hugh and wasabi a fun weekend at their expense! :P -

How is it trolling, just because you say it is?
Im serious here, they claimed it to be something big for the community when it wasn't, it was for the them and a select few teams, they even had the cheek to ask for the c… -

Lol who does this benefit but those that get to go? Oh and uwe might make a few sales then lose those players in a few weeks, don't act like what they hyped up was anything but for their own benefit, getting to fly to another even… -
When it comes to lack of content im comparing to most other games, usually we have single player and multiplayer, about 8 to 12 maps on average plus a variety of game modes.
I think ns2 was released with about 5 maps, two of those were d… -
Why not? Games will be played, one team will win, mixed experience, this will be something different, fun and interesting to watch plus the community actually gains something from it, random players who donate get a chance to join in for once inste…

Lol I just remembered this for some reason, did anything actually come of it?
I thought we were going to get a trailer for some upcoming big update to combat, i was hoping to see a build menu and extra levels or something cool... -
I've noticed since early beta it's almost like we have two communities, those at uwe, the playtesters, casters and top competitive players, then theres the rest of us, the majority of normal players who bought the game and just want to have fun with…

I don't think most of us would even care right now if it wasn't hyped up as affecting everyone, i reckon the guys at uwe and those in and casting competitive games live in a bubble based on what i've seen, it's great for those that… -
Yeah this doesn't affect the majority of players who uwe should have been focusing on instead of this competition rubbish, sorry but as much as you may hope nothing noteworthy has or will ever come of it, ns2 is just too small for that, but well don…
