    Every server?
Which build does it say it is running?

This is happening to me too.

I've verified the game cache, deleted all mods from the workshop, and still having the issue.
And interesting thing is when I delete the Workshop folder in the NS2 Appdata like some fixes tell you to do,
they all get redownloaded as soon as I try to join a server, then get bumped because of the "verified the game cache" thing

Before deinstalling the mods, make sure theyre not activated in the menu.

    Sorry for the late response.

And yes it is every server.

    Build 246.

I have made sure the mods are not activated in the menu, I unsubbed from every mod, then went to appdata and deleted the folder. In game it shows no mods.

    I still cannot join servers.

Turning off the mods first, then deleting the mods from the Workshop folder in Appdata seems to have worked for me. Thanks for the help.

Bump, I have 100 hours in this game and I would really like to keep playing.
I've uninstalled at this point 3 times, verified god knows how many times, I'm unsubbed from every mod, and appdata is totally clean.

You have to clear your steam cloud for any leftover mod files. These files persist even through re-installations.

Thanks for the time and write up. I greatly appreciate it.

However even with this, the problem persists. I have tried 3 times. I do not get the steam cloud conflict step anytime. I have no fucking idea whats wrong, but this is starting to get incredibly frustrating.

Can I get a dev response? This is getting on my nerves.

Again, how do I check that?

The Steam conflict step is the most important step, which will allow you to clear your Steam cache. Without it, the entire exercise is pointless.

Did you make sure that Steam was properly exited and offline? If you want, I can post a Youtube video of how to do it.

    Sorry @acedauntless i haven't been around ,
Your log file is located in your hidden %appdata%\Natural selection 2\ folder.
Also, running techsupport can generate it as you noticed.

    Here's from your log file:

SO.. you are still running mods, afterall. :)
Go to options in game, unsubscribe from everything, ensure nothing is active.
Now navigate to your hidden C:/Users/Joe/AppData/Roaming/Natural Selection 2/ folder and delete the folder that says "Workshop"
That should do it for ya.

No mods as far as I can tell. And I have done that, multiple times. Thanks for checking it out though.

Steam is definetly offline. If I'm fucking up, its at this step.

Half the time I get this error, the other half, I'm not really sure it's doing anything.

Once again, thanks everybody for the help.

Well upon review I clearly misspelled remote that last time, I retried it, and I still get x86 isn't recognized.
  • AceDauntlessAceDauntless Join Date: 2013-05-16 Member: 185253Members, Reinforced - Gold
Well I managed to finally fix it eventually.

It seems if I deleted the appdata, while steam was offline, it would not redownload the mods.

So any idea what caused that, or how to avoid it in the future?

I wasn't running any mods really other than the stuff you get from playing on servers. And a different reticule mod.

    Well thanks again everyone

Ty for posting the fix, and i'm glad it worked for you though :)
