If you were on the fence about pre-ordering due to the above, well here's your answer, your resolve, whatever you want to call it. NS2 is coming to the largest PC gaming platform and it's going to be sick. I want to say congratulations to UWE, as no doubt this is the single most valuable marketing piece you've needed to grow your company and NS2.

I look forward to seeing all of you out on the battlefront. Here we go!

Great news about the steam support. And gotta say, stunning screenshot. Especially the wing-flapping lerk at the right looks freaking amazing :)

Sweetness! Had already preordered, but knowing it'll have all the neat stuff that comes with official Steam games is very nice.

I have one piece of criticism. The Steam news is huge and I hope you guys get flooded with preorders. The pictures of lerk flight look amazing.

But I'm not a fan of that pistol. It's the wrong kind of chunky, like it's unwieldy.

It's not an easy balance to achieve, but we do want to make a game that will be both the best competitive game since Starcraft and also one that many people can enjoy casually without being in a clan or an experienced or knowledgeable NS player. That's the goal at least!

Yeah but the bugger looks pwrful that way, I'm actually more concerned about the odd angle of the pistol. I is kinda not pointing at the crosshair (still).

Anywasy this is awesome news guys, UWE just got steampowered :D

I'm saddened by the fact that there is no lork on that catwalkclorf :P

So i can transport my key into steam but do i have to? I hope its a legit question since NS2 is using Steamworks.
And if no, then even more importantly: after i registered my key in Steam, can i ever play a non-steam version after that?

    PARTY HARD !

    Pics or it didn't happen!

Also Zeno raises a good point (some people can't run or hate steam so mandatory is annoying for those peeps among us)

I imagine it's possible to register the key with steam but still be able to download the none steam version. Like with UT 3 a while a go, I had a boxed version but could register the key with steam and add a steam version to my account, so now I can instal the boxed or steam verion with one key.

I'm assuming the pistol was just posed like that for the screenshot since it doesn't look like that in the alpha footage. Further proof of this is the fact that there are still 10 rounds in the pistol even though a shot has clearly been fired so unless the ammo counter doesn't work yet for the pistol (it does for the mg so i would assume they both work) i wouldn't be worried.
