    Oh wow, what I made looks scrubby compared to the first post. I was just getting used to the controls. I have a video for those who want to see specular on the textures. For some reason, the video turned out VERY dark when comparing it to the actual in editor appearance.... I blame fraps.

    I really am digging this tool. The interface is rather smooth, and building that simple room only took me a few minutes tops, what took longer for me was texturing, only because every time I was texturing some textures automatically set themselves to a ridiculous scale (3e[somecrazyhighnumberhere]) which always ended up crashing my editor. I was also messing around with the lighting quite a bit trying to find out the best way to light my room (light_spot or just generic light, as well as messing with those options.) I LOVE THIS EDITOR THOUGH, I think it has a lot of potential. I enjoy using it more than I enjoy having to use unreal ed.

    you guys have made those super fast.. my god they look good! im well impressed. this map editor looks the part, i havnt played with one for many years, and that was doom2s editor, what a pain the a$$ that was.. lookn forward to having a play, should have finally downloaded the setup file in half an hour

    We're fast because we were testing the editor before it came out. :P

    Ahh that makes more sense. I know I didn't use my time that well since I got the editor but I was really worried that you guys were THAT much better than me.

    Actually we're all in the same boat as everyone else as far as getting our maps included in the game, we were just brought on for early feedback and testing.

    I was also testing, but constant videocard problems (on my end) led me to only create teeny tiny rooms and this corridor. I'm still waiting on my replacement card, but in the mean time i want you all to enjoy this light beam. Enjoy it!:

    It's what the Atmospheric flag is for (in spot lights), but it's broken in the current build.

    It's worth noting that some of what's in screenshots from people who have been testing the editor isn't in this public build. As an example, the light beams were taken out a little while ago as they needed optimising. Don't worry, though, they're coming back later! There may be a few prop discrepancies, but other than that things are basically the same.

    mendasp, why its written "destroyer of maps" under your name? because if ns_bast? :D anyway, nice screenshots from all of you

    im missing at the tool descriptions which shortcuts are assigned to them, would be nice to see it there aswell. and do you / we have some public accessible site / tool where to post bugs or change requests? :)

    Yep, I decided I wanted a new custom title and I chose that one. I was thinking something... worse, but this one is good enough. :)

    Im quite the noob, never done any map for HL or anything :). But here I am trying out the editor, going well I think not quite as eyecatching as your maps though. I just got some corridors and lights + some props : /. Anyway for my question, is there a config file or something that can be edited? Noticed my shadows dissapear when being farther away than 5m or so.

    I've really no idea where I'm going with this. I'm just testing out the editor, really :D
    I really like it though. It's so simple to use and still very powerful, even in it's pre-alpha stage. I've no real experience with mapping in FPS games. Only used Hammer before but even there I was just messing around much like I am now. :)
