    All textures and props are black and lights don't work for me.
    Is this a bug or just my old graphics card (Radeon X700 Pro)?

    Everything being black is a sign of your GPU not handling the editor. My older comp gets the same thing, but my new one and my laptop run it just fine.

    great so far, a few issues with bleeding textures, but I think I might be just maipulating things wrong. The only significant bugs I've found is that ctrl-z has about a 10% chance to crash spark if you are asking it to undo anything even remotely complex. ;)

    Doh that would make sense. Thanks a lot, haha. I thought there was just some directory path error.

    Im having problems with the line creator. It sometimes does not create anything. Im having a hard time closing up holes in the map that are triangles or large rectangles. No matter what I do it will not work. Even if I delete a side and recreate it, the side I delete will not create.
    Also is there only 1 door? If I create an entity for door there is only 1 model. I cant use prop static to move. So if we dont want to use that door model how do we change it?
    Im also having problems with selecting the correct edge that I want to edit. Or if I move a side edges that I do not want to move do. Even though it will not create a hole. Is there a way to stop this?
    Also the copy and paste is kind of annoying. If I paste it the whatever I copied is at the location of the copied object. Could it be more like hammer where whenever you paste the object its where your mouse it pointing.
    Im also having problems with top down 2d view. I have to be really zoomed in to see anything. When Im zoomed in its hard to make out anything because the grid seems to be in the foreground.
    <img src="http://img260.imageshack.us/img260/6678/topview.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

    Why does deleting 1 point on a side of the brush delete not only the line, but the entire brush?

    If your using the line, rectangle, or circular tool and move the camera around the pointer disappears and acts crazy.

    I must say I love the scale for the models. Makes models so much more dynamic.

    Is there limits to this engine like with source? IE Amout of dynamic entities, light, prop statics, entities data? Is there any optimization with what the player sees like portals from source? Or is this engine completely different? Is there a limit to how much a player can see? How much till there will be performance issuses? Is there a limit to brush sides? Does a line equal a brush side? or for that matter is there a limit to the lines? Is there too complex geometry that will crash or not complie? How does this engine split up brushes and angles?

    Is there any way to group objects or brushes yet?

    Is there any way to chose what plane the brush will appear? Only way im found is to use the 3d view. If I use wireframe the brush choses its own location and altitude.

    feature request:
    When I select a surface in the paint tool can we have a small box, maybe even a dropdown that shows what texture we are currently using as that surface and a short 'hotlist' of the last five or so textures we've used as a quick reference? I always forget to remember the names of the textures I'm using.

    bug:
    I think there are issues with creating a line overtop of an already existing one and I'm pretty sure most of my crashes are resulting from this.
    bug2:
    some issues that when I've selected four bordering lines or verticies and try to create a surface it either crashes (5% of the time) or doesn't create a surface.

    My post got deleted, probably because I made my own thread instead of posting here:
    I have a bug where when I mouse over a tool, the tooltip appears, and lags the editor really badly until it goes away. Am I the only one with this issue?

    Also, someone above said the 5500 isn't DirectX 9... Well he is wrong. The 5000 series IS DX9, even the 5200. Just wanted to throw that out there...

    But if anyone can confirm the tooltip issue, let me know

    check the other side. maybe its there and you have to click it and then click flip !

    there is a problem with the surface creation though when the for bordering lines are themself put together out of more than one line (i think)

    But for some reason it also selects the lights as they have a pretty large light radius.
    <img src="http://billeder.andersriggelsen.dk/ns2/hallway-circle-2d-lights.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

    Please make area selection of lights only check for their point position, not their volume.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

    A temporary workaround for this would be to put your lights into a Layer, then make that layer not visible. When items in an invisible layer, they will not be selected.

    Is there an easy way to get rid of vertices?

    Unwanted lines can be Deleted with no problem, but they leave their two vertices behind. Deleting these also deletes the faces.

    E.g. if you have a square face with a line across the middle; delete the line and you have two vertices on either side in the middle. These are not necessary to form the face, but when deleted, they delete the face.

    Hi,
    my bug: I just can't launch the editor... the error message says:

    "C:\...\Editor.exe
    This application couldn't be launched because the application configuration is incorrect. re-install the application to solve the problem."

    The message was in french, I translated it the best I could. it could be not perfectly exact. Obviously, I re-installed it, but still it doesn't work.

    any help ? thanks :)

    EDIT: OOPS, I've just seen the message in page 2, sorry :( I try the fix. And wow.... the translation was an epic fail :D

    Sorry - when I say "webbed" I mean I've pinned it to the top of the forum. "Webbed" refers to a feature of the original NS, whereby Gorges could spin webs to trap marines.

    For those of you that are experiencing the "application configuration is incorrect" error, the fix can be found <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/forums/index.php?showtopic=108124" target="_blank">here</a>.

    EDIT: Well, I apparently already posted that fix in this thread. Take heed people! Read threads before you post in them! This includes me.

    Light reflects off the floor regardless of walls in the way. The light follows the camera as you pan around.

    In this picture the light is in that tunnel, but it clearly shines through the wall.

    There is a big problem with shadows drawing from off-screen props. Like if you have a fan with a spotlight behind it, if the fan is not near your field of view, the shadow wont draw.

    Fan in field of view, shadow drawn:
    <img src="http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d93/WhiteZero/Shadow1.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

    Fan just out of field of view, shadow still drawn:
    <img src="http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d93/WhiteZero/Shadow2.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

    Fan a bit more out of field of view, shadow not drawn:
    <img src="http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d93/WhiteZero/NoShadow.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

    Undoing [ctrl z] the first move you did in the new file, then trying undo again causes the editor to violently exit to the desk.

    Issue: All surfaces appear very dark, even when bright light sources are applied. The prop and texture viewers also show objects that appear very dark (seemingly black).
    edit: I just noticed that for a fraction of a second after placing props, I can sometimes see the textures in normal brightness before they quickly turn extremely dark like everything else.
    Video card: ATI RADEON X800 PRO (updated drivers)
    Thanks!

    any word on this yet? I'm having trouble deleting the leftover verts but keeping faces intact or recreating the faces once they've been deleted.

    The light source is in the room (hollow box). Whether there is a light or not, the surfaces are the same color/intensity values.
