@zemangaka - nice work and a lot of it! Lotsa goodies in there - def think we need some sort of "base light-beacon" that would run off base power and be seriously visib…

Another solution: when you left-click to begin piloting, the hot- buttons at the bottom of the screen become "view" buttons. These can then quickly switch between HELM, KEEL,SCREW,CON-TOWER and one for exiting the pilot mode.
The HELM vi… -
All I am suggesting is to display the same coordinates that are shown when you hit F1: 234 23 -1234, etc N/S Depth E/W - a nice panel-meter type display along the bottom edge of the scree. No special 3D graphics - just some simple numbers to be u…

Pod 17! I've passed that sucker - didn't look close enough!... TKS!
-
Thanks to all - that should get me going!

All the ideas on lighting are great. I'm not so sure how much it matters if the controls have the pilot sitting or standing, but the view IS important.
I've just started running the Cyclops, and invariably end up using the camera views. … -
Ok - guess I haven't worked with the PRAWN enuff yet to fully appreciate it. Does seem a bit clunky at first, tho...
-
@Jaga - your idea worked! Created a new Seamoth, and it works just great. I did come up with a way to get rid of the bad one: Park the bad 'moth by some cargo boxes, and …

@Jaga - thanks for the idea. Should I delete/destroy the existing subs or just move them out of the way?
-
More details on the slowdown. It appears to be related to movement of the Seamoth. I had it in the Moonpool and went out - and it was moving at the very slow frame rate. When I exited he Seamoth, I began swimming at the correct frame rate. I swam…

Still more details - the plot thickens!
I saved at my base, then swam to the Cyclops, which had NO vehicles aboard. Interestingly the sub performed perfectly - no tick-tock frame rate. Took it out some distance - left and swam to an is… -
More details: Had did a save in LifePod5 - and returned to the game. The Seamoth was outside - and when I got in - it was in "super slo-mo" mode with frames ticking at about 2 per second.
I got back to the base and once out of the Seamo… -
If Cyclops cam control is moved to the 5 hot buttons, you could have them switch to displaying a camera icon, with the selected one showing a green background. Perhaps a single letter could be used in each button: K(eel), S(crew), C(onning), P(ilot)…

@narfblat - that makes sense. Guess I'll have to start working on the PRAWN.

Ah - shudda waited till I tried the drill arm. Didn't realize it was already slow. Just saw all that good loot sitting around and wishing for a way to get some of it. in YANT -(Yet Another New Tool) Comment by harrzack October 2016

@ImmortalHunter - don't forget - this is a software created sci-fi world. Apparently the impurities haven't been programmed in yet, hence we are in "virtual" CLEAR…

Now have over 100 hrs in the game and have had to do my first rebuild from update-caused probs. Because the cheats let me get back where was, it all worked out, and for the better.
Now have the Cyclops - and as the saying goes, having it… -
OMG - why in the world do you want fork up a perfectly good game with PVP shit?
If you have to kill each other, go play Dayz, H1Z1, Elite Dangerous, WOW, or any of the hundred others out there.
NO PVP - NO MULI-PLAYER - NO CO-OP!! … -
Thanks to all for the ideas. Guess I'll keep that base around... it is "paid for" anyway...
Guess the Moonpool will also be handy for getting started with the PRAWN. -

Hmm - cool feature I haven't seen yet. At least the lights are there! Now we just need them to come on at the right time. -
Ok - a "rectangle" with 4 equal sideds... aka SQUARE... still don't see any real purpose for them in the camera views.
-
@Sidchicken - in order to 'see' light it has to reflect off something. Apparently the water here is VERY clear so there are no floating dirt or other particles for it …

Doesn't apply here. If I jump out and grab something I'm only a few feet away, and in the dark night the 'moth is nearly invisible - Especially if something is after you, and panic prevails. The beacon is great for many meters away, but up close we …

I'm running a modest (newly built) system - Win10, Core i7 Skylake at native 4Ghz, 16G ram and a GTX-960 vid card. Game is also installed on SSD - dunno if that helps... I see the pop-in and distant objects - but can't say I real… -

Well - since it has been pretty firmly stated there will be NO coop and NO multi-player (can you imagine - PVP in Subnautica?!) - it would seem unlikely there will be two other 'mates' on the bridge. in First Cyclops Impressions Comment by harrzack October 2016 -
Well - I have recovered from the PITA of the one breakage - and with the cheats available I was able to rebuild my new game (purely in the Sept release) - then go back to straight play.
It is a testament to just how good this game is now… -
Dudes - Truly some amazing 3D art! Great work.
However - I have only one cloud for this silver lining: Wouldn't such a big sub somewhat overwhelm the Subnautica world? For my money, running around in the Seamoth is the quintessential… -
@Thosar - that is exactly what happened to the man who won the History Channel survivor (REAL) show "Alone". He said once he got a system going to get food and stay warm, a…
