Nope, steam wasn't around for the one I am talking about.

In this case, I used to be a hard hat diver (commercial, I used to wear that exact helmet in my avatar image) and there aren't a lot of games with a prominent underwater feature. So perhaps nostalgia. Also, I like a game with a story and survival…

Learned about cavitation with an old game called 688 attack sub.
I find it odd that we cavitate all the time at all depths. I wrote it up as either just a game mechanic or not yet finished. Now wouldn't it also be neat if they had ther… -
I do miss the snarky "good job not dying".

This seems like a likely place to add this. For what it may be worth:
Things I don't use in subnautica. I do realize there is and should be more than one way to play. So I am not outright advocating getting rid of these.

It may be because the game isn't finished yet but there does seem to be a hole in the bread crumbs after a certain point. The only reason I know to go looking into the dark places of the ocean is because I've played the game already. As a new pers…

That's funny because I was telling a color blind friend about subnautica and then said it doesn't matter because nobody can see anything so far under water anyway. -
While we are all pushing for more realism.... I think we should be made to deal with hypoxia.. fiddle with mixed gases and have to experience real decompression.... Yea, because realism. In a game... on an alien planet... in a pretend future...

The problem I have with "balance" (I hate this word now- as it usually means "things aren't going how *I* like them") is that it is so very subjective.

Truth. Now in commercial diving, I had a lot of weights on so didn't really have to kick much. More like walk slowly.
-
I like the tree cove. It is currently an oasis in a deep sea of danger. Not sure if it will stay that way. Some people may not be happy unless you are harried every second of the play time.
-
It looked to me like the "planet" was actually a moon. With a companion that causes eclipses. Usually right when you need the light most.
-
I am parked at the prison now with no problems. Just patients and silent running. Now, when I get out, the dragon comes a screaming because I apparently am noisy on my own. There is a bit of damage on the sub from bumping into walls.

I paint them bright colors like diving equipment. Helps to see them in the sea.

If you want a science game, play Chemicus. This is just a sci fi game with loose science.

I prefer huds that are minamilist, hiding the parts you don't need to know about when you don't need to know them. Like Skyrim hud.
That said, I'm not asking for a faster horse, so I'll let the developers do what they think is best. -
Ok, this happened to me, too. I thought it was just a result of not starting a new game.
-
Hadn't seen that one. My cyclops "falls" whenever I cross the little room between the control room and engineering. I figured it was an old save game issue and started over.
-
I use the seaglide temporarily while I find seamoth parts and later on when I drop off a seamoth or cyclops and want to quickly swim down to a node.
I also use it to get out of wrecks quicker when my air is getting low. -
Having reduced the processor affinity to 4 of them, I have not crashed.
-
It was one of the mushroom worms in the purple cave. Grabbed me through the wall of the broken base then dropped me under it.
-
I had the 10+ door thing happen, too. I actually spent the time to cut through them all. It was fruitless, though.
-
My game was going fine until it was time for the sunbeam to appear. Then it started crashing rather regularly when loading in new biomes. You can make it through the load sometimes, but it usually crashes now.
-
Was able to jump high enough to get back into the seamoth and go back to the big gun moon pool. Upon exiting, I tried out swimming again and I was back to being a swimmer rather than a walker. Don't know what may have caused the confusion to the g…

I have run into this now myself. After visiting the big gun, I could swim to my seamoth. The next time I exited the seamoth I fell to the ground and was stuck walking underwater.
Also crash on exit. -
Is the increased crashiness just on reloading an old game or is it happening with either new or old saves?
-
Now that is cool.
-
I am trying the same thing and so far I have pointers to several life pods and the floating island. That somewhat leads you to find the ruined base in the purple cave. Doesn't say to go to the purple cave, though, I just figure that's the one they…

They seem ok, but they are jerks.
I notice, however, that ever new game I start for the last two stable builds the safe shallows isn't. I get those long toothy fish and the sand sharks in there before too long. -
Mine is the diving helmet I once wore when I was younger and did hard hat diving.
