In-game Steam Skin?

<div class="IPBDescription">beautiful transparent black...</div> Hi, I'm new to the forums, not too new to NS. I was just wondering if I could somehow use the Steam skin I see in game... without being in the game. I mean, I really like the black transparent look instead of the default green or nasty looking grey. If this was already mentioned, sorry I'm kinda lazy <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> . But ya... if somene could tell me how I could use this as my default Steam skin, I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

-Sogard

When you start up NS 3.0 using Steam (as you usually would) you get a transparent, black steam skin. Maybe one can check how the heck they managed to get the skin transparent as this really looks kinda cool :-)

Usual Steam ColorSheme is RRGGBBHH ( Red - Green - Blue - Brightness ), can't find any param for transparency though....

    www.ilovesteam.com

    create a folder such as

    c:\ program files \ steam \ skins \ black-trans \

and make an ilovesteam project, customize the steam skin to your preference...

save, and export to that folder... load up steam, then select your new steam skin, hit ok, and reboot steam....

bada bing, you've got a new steam skin...

    (just a freindly pimp)

www.nsarmslab.com has a bunch of pre-made steam skins... if you ever want to customize it out, and do almost no work.

Anyone know how to replace the NS splash screen? You know, the one with 3 marines in a corridor and 2 skulks around the corner?

What folder is that in? I just want a blank black screen.

If you wanna have the orginal steam skin ingame you just have to change name of a file. The file is at - steam folder/halflife/nsp/resource/TrackerScheme.res
I just hate the black ingame skin before and now i got the orginal green skin ingame. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo-->

No one has quite said how... and I would like to know as well.

Is it just taking this file
    <!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->- steam folder/halflife/nsp/resource/TrackerScheme.res

and copying it into your steam/skin/resource floder to over ride the exsisting one? I tried this, and no dice.
