The laser was part of the game, not the model. You can't get them in 3.0 as they were in 1.0x

    Sorry.

    Model != Behaviour

    otherwise i would add an RPG-model instead of the knife-model :-)

    speaking of old mines, I liked how old mines were actually different whether deployed on the floor or still in a pickable pack. Why was this removed? you could see at a glance which mines are put or if the comm actually dropped a pack for your use.

    Lasers were too cpu intensive. Servers woudl've crashed. Comps would slow down and everyon's general ping would go straight up

    There are mines with lasers on them; check the customisation forum for them.

    [EDIT] Laser mines ahead!

    Yeah, so you can see the mines around the base with the big red "THERES A MINE HERE" pole sticking up! How incredibly exploitive...

    To respond to flamebait, or not to respond to flamebait? That is the question.

    so what your saying is if i have the original mines model i can replace it with the current 1 and it will blow up wen in range...?

    No, what we are saying is, you cannot get the laser trip mine in 3.0. The best you can do is create an illusion to trick yourself.

    Because it requires changing the game code, something you are not capable of doing.

    Not only that, if it was possible, then this game would be full of hacks to do things similar to this. Nothing would stop it.

    EDIT: Clarification

    Think about that for a minute... why is it so you cant change the mines into tripmines like they used to be, instead of proximities?

    How would players know which one they are? Hell, if you can change mines like that, whats to stop you from making your HMG fire nades?
