I have played it. If you were looking for a new multiplayer experience, it isn't in this game. However. I did enjoy the single player campaigns. It was actually quite fun.

All in all its good for a little while single player wise. Don't dare buy it for the multiplayer though.

I played with the bots in the Steam beta. If they are the ones used in Condition Zero then I can safely say that they are the smartest bots I've come up against.

They can emulate cheaters as well, so you can deal with them playing offline and online!

what happenned to these bots? they're the only types of players I've been capable of actually hitting (on the lowest level, other bots not included)

Yea, those bots were awesome. They display teamwork that any CSer or NSer would be proud of.

Try radioing for help, they would actually come! (dont see this anymore in cs or ns :/)

CZ is a worthy expansion pack, and I'd only pay as much for it.

Ok I'm confused. I doulbe clicked on CS:CZ in steam and it said that it sent an e-mail to be with a validation code. What did I just do... Is it letting me play some sort of preview? Did i just unwittingly buy it? It's taking a while for my validation whatever to arrive.

e/... ah i c. Now it asks me to buy it. pppffff.

I actually DO want to get this game. Firstly because my internet isn't that great and I do like to play cs. Secondly there wont be any hackers. Thirdly no LAG!

Seems to me that these bots, which are quite impressive by the sound of it, will suplly a better round of cs then any online game i've played so far.

You see? Valve DOES release quality products, they just take their sweet time over it.

Except: The game really isn't quality, and Valve can't claim it as their own.

Wait for Half-Life 2 for the real juice.

CZ is good but its not quality. I consider Halflife a quality game.

Yes but HL is the only product Valve has ever released that they developed. Well unless you count Steam...

As far as CS:CZ goes, I'm glad its out because it was one of the major things holding up HL2's release, so now that its out of the way maybe we'll get some HL2 before Christmas. As for the game itself though, meh, I can't stand CS, so I'm sure I won't like CS with bots...

Weren't the Ritual missions scrapped for being too bad, then Turtle Rock took over and made the single player campaign. But i think the Ritual missions are included as nothing more than a bonus.

I must admit that i am curious to buy it, but i wouldn't play it online for the same reasons i won't play CS online.
• VenmochVenmoch Join Date: 2002-08-07 Member: 1093Members
Nope they're still there.

Problem is that the mission got slated for being "Too Similar and old" I mean thats why I wanted to buy it darnit!

I wanted a game set in a realistic setting but with realism thrown completely out the window.

But nooooo in the gaming world Old-School FPS's are a bad thing......

The PC gaming scene sucks at the moment.

I personally don't give a damn about CS:CZ, but I see its release, even though very delayed, as a good thing. With CZ Valve will be testing the Steam online purchasing system publicly for the first time. I'm sure this will give them some valuable experience when they finally decide to release HL2. HL2's release delay has also been a good thing, not just game-wise but because they now have the time to get Steam to work properly (which it actually sort of did, minus the friends network, before the last catasthropic update), so it won't be a total POS like WON was when HL was released. I sure hope that Steam will be up and running perfectly by the time HL2 goes gold, and if CZ can help in testing the system in any way, it's a good thing.

Now for the obligatory CS:CZ joke:
Does it include a teamkiller bot? If not, it just doesn't feel like Counter-Strike anymore.

They're asking to get hacked. Just hit "Already Purchased the Game" and go find a serial number or keygen... what is VALVe thinking?

I might buy it when I get payed in a week or so... but I don't know, can anyone post screenshots?

It sucks because of the release of wholy sub-standard FPS affairs, such as Ritual's CZ portion, that feature awful AI (In CZ's case ironic considering its brilliant bots) and woeful, predictable and altogether hackneyed level design (something I did not expect from the calibre of Ritual's mappers).

I haven't played cz and I don't think I will. Spend your money on ut2004 instead or save them for hl2.

It did get a pretty decent review from PC Gamer several months ago (before they ran into publisher troubles), mostly due to the high quality bots. I'm not a huge fan of CS, and I'm certainly not enough of a fan to buy a thirty dollar game just for some good bots.
