<div class="IPBDescription">the e-mail client, not the browser</div>I just downloaded <a href='http://www.mozilla.org/products/thunderbird/' target='_blank'>Mozilla Thunderbird</a> and man oh man, it rocks. I like it very much.
I've always liked the UI of Outlook Express, but am **** off about its stupid way of handling attachments and also spam is a problem. Especially Spam. Spam has become a really big pain in the arse for me.
So anyway, I check this one out and man, it rocks. I'm gonan keep evaluating it, but so far so good. My only gripes are:
1) the lack of a "send and recieve all" anywhere. :/
2) setting options for accounts can be a pain. Its a real hassle to have to click the same settings over and over again for 7 different email accounts you want the exact same settings on.
3) signature puts this wierd "--" before it starts the actual sig. Who the hell wants that?
Anyway, these three very minor gripes aside this is one kickass e-mail program! I think I still may end up getting Outlook 2003 anyway (due to other features like the Notes, Calendar, and syncing contacts w/ my phone), but if I don't, I'll probably be using this. :)
So I recommend you all to check it out. Too bad they can't make their browser as nice as this. ;)

Don't like how something works? There will probably be a plug-in or extension to change it.

P.S. There's a new Discworld Companion?!?! Woo! Library here I come!
I've been using all their products for years. I will never go back to using Microshit's crappy software

No excuse tbh. If they can't be bothered to install then at least use <a href='http://www.knoppix.net/' target='_blank'>Knoppix.</a> Linux Live CD! <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I know I do....
And frankly I'm more likely to switch to a Mac than Linux. (And don't give that crap about "Oh but OS X has a *nix bit in I really don't care)
One gripe I've found so far is that it can't be configured to check Hotmail. Sure, it's mostly just my junk mail email addy, but I occasionally still get <i>some</i> real email in it. The Thunderbird FAQ suggested downloading a program called "Hotmail Popper" (<a href='http://www.boolean.ca/hotpop/hotpop-3.0.1.exe' target='_blank'>info</a>), so I'll give that a whirl.

Yup. It imported my mailboxes, my address book, and even my POP and SMTP server settings. But it doesn't import your password for security reasons ;)

God Bless Mozilla.

Thats also not free, negating the point of it
Aww dang, I never knew it was one of those trial programs. Looks like I might just abandon Hotmail altogether and just use the email addy for my msn chat profile. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I use opera now.

YES!!! OH YES!!!
Five clicks each was all it took to import all my messages, folders, contacts, settings and all that shizzle.

Since you seem to all value DOOMs opinion so much.
Thunderbird's number one function is the junk mail proggy that filters all the junk mail for me. My junk mail box tends to get from 10-30 junk mail post's every day, so it's nice to have Thunderbird throw them to trash right away.
EDIT: Never mind, found the installer I wanted <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
