Is there anyway to fix this? cause i really want to start playing this but i cant get into any games due to the .dll client thingy differing from the server.

I came back here to find the earlier posts to my dilemma, and lo and behold I couldn't find them. Anyhow, <u>I believe it was eaglec? </u> I copied and printed out your explicit instructions and I CAN GET INTO THE GAME! Thanks so much. And I also want to thank Thansal and Torak...You guys are the best, and never lost one second of patience with me.
Anyhow, eaglec, what do I do with that nsp folder you wanted me to move? I put it on my desktop...And NEVER apologize for LONG WINDED instructions, that is what I need.
Anyhow it works...Now, tell me where ya'll play, and I'll try to hook up with you. I go by the name of GRANNY!!! in the game (sure made for interesting conversation). If you can, and if I need them, give me the IP's where ya play.

one of the best ways to find us is simply ussing our Steam Names (in my case it is still Thansal)
Unfortunatly I don't reg on servers that often, so I can't realy give you IPs...

game not avaliable = steam messing up.
Often a quick restart of steam will fix the problem, if not simply wait....
Also, for some reason, I'm not able to get the Friends thing in steam working. I had it working just fine, until an update or two ago with Steam...Once again, I'm sure it's something I'm doing on my end, and it will work out sooner or later.

As for getting used to the game...
YAH, its ALOT different then any other mod out there.
And yah, alot of people can be anoying, there are a few 'nub friendly' servers out there (Lunixmonster is one)
One of my general suggestions is to start up a LAN game and run around with cheats on so you can get the basic idea.
Cheats:
sv_cheats 1 (turns em on, duh <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->)
bigdig (everything builds automaticly, and REALy fast)
givepoints (bind this to a key and spam it when ever you want some resorces to play with)
For CO maps the only thing you need is to bind a key to giveexp (or it might be givexp, can't remember)
Running around the maps as a skulk with celerity can actualy get you ussed ot a few different things in one go (how upgrades work, getting used to the entire "weeee I can run on walls", and a sorta feel of the maps)
If you are playing as a marine on normal NS maps and the comm says, go to xxxx place, ask him for a waypoint (wp), tell him you new. Some people will be nice, some people wont.....
