<div class="IPBDescription">onos help plz!</div> yes I know, Im a nub. but whenever I go onos, are there any tricks to devouring? Its so hard just to eat someone even when your hugging him. I need tips

Go onos in combat and practice, practice, practice.

The tip of the horn should be just to the side of their right hip if I remember correctly.

I'd just like to clarify that the tip of the horn is not at the center of the screen.

If you do a search, you can find a topic about changing crosshairs, I think. That might help you devour. Lots of practice in combat is good too, but I've found that by the time I'm an onos all the marines are teched up, are difficult to catch with their jet packs, and kill me really quickly. If you have a friend around you that likes NS, try getting together for a private game and practice away.

If you're running the lan, you can set sv_cheats 1 and use things like "givehive" and "giveres" (or maybe there are spaces, I'm not sure) to help speed things up.

good luck with learning to devour, it's a tough skill.

Yeah, basically everyone that has problems ends up finding out they were aiming too high. Aim lower where you would think "thats retarded why would i aim there?!" and bam, they are in your mouth.

I find that crouching, and putting the middle of your happy meal in the middle of your screen does the trick.

crouching helps(those ppl too lazy to aim down) for some but it is actually unnecessary

devour has got quite a good range. U can devour ppl crouching down the stair while u are standing if u aimed. U can also devour ppl inside a vent. Once there was a jper inside a vent, I devoured him and he yelled, "How the fuc* did u do it? I was way back in the vent!!!"

just go to a co map and practice devouring, first with stomp. When u are good at devouring ppl with stomp, try without it. Being able to devour ppl without stomping can often save ur 75 res in ns maps when the rines just took ur 2nd hive down.

yes but if there's 5 marines unloading their guns at you you propably dont have enough time to duck. best tip i can give is to know where the crosshair would be if there was one (aka center of the screen).

The 100%, sure fire way to devour:

First of all, it has quite a bit of range. In fact, a marine is close to you, it wont work at all.

Aim the tip of your horn right between the marines pecs. Right in the middle of their chest. Some people say ducking helps, but it only slows you down, and it never really helped me. Once you pull it off a few times, youll get the hang of it.

You can also devour through buildings like once i was toying around in co_faceoff as a cloaked onos and when he went to the armory i would just duck and fire through the armory and got him
