anyways, in dod players are taken into a clan by weapon, but in ns it wont work like that. First, the player will most likely be tested for team (alien, marine, both) then for class/weapon (lmg,shotgun,hmg,gren launcher,skulk, lerk, gorge, onos, fade, commander) but i think that for most of the time the player would have to be good with MULTIPLE classes/weapons because the clan cant expect the person to be bad until he has enough rp's for an onos, so the person would have to be good at say a gorge and onos for example.
What do all you people think about clan recruiting?

Who cares if you are "leet" if you are a muppet and no-one enjoys playing with you..?
Games are/ should be for fun..you want "leet competition", get out of your house, go to the Olympics or Ultimate Fighting or something...
Don't whack the muppets man. And I always saw clans as a way of taking the group of people you like playing with most, then organizing them.
NS will probly be based mostly off teamwork, willingness to sacrifice self, and attitude in general (and of course, skill).

Ppl can always earn more expirience and get better at the game with practice, but ppl can´t change their personallity that much....

i wonder how clan games will be played, as each team (marine/aliens) are very different from the playing style.
will it be like in cs, where for each map you play one round as alien, next round as marine?
if matches are played like that, you will need to have good allround players, or even 2 teams for one clan. if not, will there be marines/aliens only clans?

i think it works like in dod in n.america so
1 map 30min rounds (this would change) and 1st half 1 team is marine, then switch.
OR you could do 2 maps, 30 min rounds, but that might lengten a bit but :o
I agree that you cant let anyone into a clan if they arent friendly etc, that doesnt mean you should recruit the first person you meet that tells a good joke and appreciates yours.
I should think people will specialise to a certain extent, I can imagine people saying "Im a good all rounder but excel with a shottie" and then in a clan match the commander will give you a shottie and only put you in your most useful places.
I should also think people will have fave classes too, "Im best at lerk" people will go distract and kill enemy patrols, faders will defend locations and group assault enemy bases, gorges will... gorge really <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo--> You get the idea.
Skill _DOES_ matter in a clan match, if your clan keeps losing they will split up unless you are really really friendly (i.e have slumber parties and give each other makeovers <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo--> in which case youll stop competing and just play friendlies).

thats EXACTLY what im talking about!
i mean clans will want ppl who are good with specific classes/weapons so that as a whole they (hopefully) will have no or little weakness!
matches aren't delayed. i think since the avg match is 1 hr so, either no timelimit or 1 hr timelimit per round.
so in total the clan match would be 2 hrs (1 hr each side), you can't use the default 15/30minute rounds because in a game like ns u need time.
