Combat Mode Spawning In Beta 3 Is Horrible Imo

<div class="IPBDescription">And many people seem to agree with me</div> Now, many people are starting to hate combat mode, because of the fact you have to wait now in a line of 2 or 3 people to repspawn, and we think its a horrible idea, espically when the other team is completly in your spawn eatting away your chair/or shooting your hive, and only 2 of you get a chance at a time to stop 10 to 16 of them? Thats not cool, not even 3 Onos could handle a team of Marines in that kind of situation.

If there was a topic about this before, im sorry, i looked for it, but could not find it myself personaly.

I liked it the way it was in Beta 1 and 2, where it just takes longer if your a higher level, that IMO was fair. But the way it is now i dont think is at all.

I hope Flayru and the gang change it back to what it was.

    They seem pre determined to me. Cause soon as i spawn i am hit by a fade or onos and die.

    They could solve that problem by adding a "room" for each team to spawn in FIRST and then a door that opens and leads the the player out. There would be something to keep the enemy from accessing the other players room... Try playing TFC to see what I mean. Of course they might have to add multiple "rooms" so the enemy will never know exactly where you will spawn.

    <i>I</i> think the spawn system in b3 is the best yet. People still can spawn in fast enough, yet it's still possible to kill the CC/hive in less than three hours. A <u>slightly</u> faster spawn, or 1/3rd of your team spawning in, might be better though.

    however, this isnt true for mid - late game aliens

    even with rines having hmg + upgraded shotgun + gl its possible for a few onos or a webbing gorge to hold down the rines that are camped up in the hive area


    it isnt possible for marines to make a comeback when aliens have taken over the cc area

    ..something needs to be changed for rines

    I would like it when you spawn, you have a few seconds of invincibilty. Maybe then you can actually do something against the endless alien waves.

    Best way to fix it:

    Combine Beta 1 and Beta 2 systems.


    This will allow massive wave spawning a la beta 2 early game so that one lucky skulk rush / marine rush doesn't end up with camping all over, but in end game, since players are going to be of different levels, spawning will be more erratic, making it easier to end.


    Seriously, that system is foolproof.

    1) One good rush no longer makes the entire other team 'quit'

    2) Higher tier baddies will take longer to respawn, giving you respite from the killer onos. On the other hand, this means that in the late game, a few onos succesfully mowing down HA will be able to romp around the base with g4y abandon.

    Just make sure you fix the 'no upgrades fast spawn' bug, and base it solely on level.

    I think the worst part about combat is that I'll be killing the hive but 4 gorges undo everything I do to the hive and then web the hive to hell

    i think the spawn system is fine. the only problem with combat are the stalemates.. and i think that can be fixed by removing welders and hive healing. whatever damage it takes, it keeps.

    that would be a bit unfair also... considering that 4 lvl2 grenades get the hive down from 100% to 75%...

    How about making it so that after a certain milestone of the hives/CC health (every 25% or 33%) is removed, it can't be welded/heal sprayed past that point? Even if there are four gorges healing away, you won't have wasted your time after jetpacking in and getting the hive down to 4%.

    im running this spawn invul plugin, that last for like 1.5 secs.

    To balacnce it a lil bit, and prolongs the game on average of 5 mins?

    The most annoying thing is that it isn't even balanced in the way it was meant to work. If one team has 5 players, and the other team has 6 players, the team with 5 players will spawn 1 at a time, and the team with 6 players will spawn 2 at a time. If it was changed to 33% or 50%, then it would have to based on the larger team for both teams, so that the bigger team doesn't have this big advantage.
