  • VyvnVyvn Join Date: 2002-08-24 Member: 1226Members
I heard around 100 megs. I think that this has been posted several other places as well (hint, hint, use the search function [even though it can be a bit tricky to use]).

    *edit* Darn it, Bill...

doest thou fear the use of leet speak in these forums dear sir?  You should note that such language is used only in jest here.

Besides, we ain't your normal HL community.

100 megs seems a little small for a mod of this sheer quality? well you know what they say, good things come in tight female packages... uhhh, yes.

I feel for you *pats T1*.

But why not just find a friend using t1 or DSL, ask him to D/L it then burn it on CD, give it to ya =). Or simply have a LAN shortly afterwards

Those maps take lots of space and NS only has 7, so thats why it will be smaller than DoD or counterstrike.

The latest build installer exe is about 95MB.
  • NovakoalaNovakoala Join Date: 2002-07-17 Member: 962Members, Constellation
My connection = 128kbs cable = ~1 meg/minute. So I'll be waiting for an hour and a half.

    Ah, the suspense!

Hmm, if "The latest build installer exe is about 95MB." than I'm taking the final will be around 98MB.

I'm glad this thing won't be setting any size records.  But hell, I'd download it even if it were 1GB.  Anyway, my dialup thanks you.

The Playtest for E&B was a gig ... I Almost cancelled that 3 times...

Back on subject im really impressed with you guys bringing the game in such a small package!

Dont really mater since I got my DSL...
  • RafeRafe Join Date: 2002-08-14 Member: 1153Members
You have to realise that Half-Life engine is like, 500mb --NS is a mod that uses the HL engine, and its own mod package, so add up HL and the mod uncompressed, and it totals quite a bit of space..  <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->

Actually... It could quite possibly be a few megs smaller as well (though I'd not bet on it too much). The largest download size has been about 110 MB. So it might get a tiny bit smaller (or maybe a tiny bit bigger, you never know).

/me hates 3 gig limit on cable
####### australian ISPs!! 80 bucks(US$40-45) for 3 gigs is a bloody rip off! Used to be like 20 gigs before for the
    same price.
    Anyway im way too off-topic.
