Well this isn't really a reskin. I had asked awhile ago for someone to make me a MARPAT URBAN Digital camo reskin of Brig's model. Nobody knew what I was talking about, and nobody answered my request. So I tried to make myself one.
Since these were supposed to be SPACE MARINES I thought it was funny they had woodland camies on, since its an indoor enviroment we play in, and that by 2006 Marines are no longer authorized to wear them.
So I just changed the pattern, changed the rank to Corporal, and threw a few EGA's in there. Oh and I changed the screen on his comlink (or whatever) to a GPS. I wanted to put a bloodtype on his kevlar, but it was backwards on the other side...and I'm too dumb to fix it.
Nothing on this model is mine, It was Brig's model, Logan's hack and whoever else contributed to it. I know the camo is ugly, its probably something only another RL Marine would appreciate, I'm not a skinner...and if you don't know what MARPAT is..do a search...last time people directed me to the Urban reskin of Brig's model. ONCE AGAIN NONE OF THIS IS MINE!

please stop releasing hackjobs of brigs stuff. doesnt matter if you didnt make it or you just changed the skin or the animation a little bit, just stop. those models are not yours. brig asked not to mess with them. show some respect.

I didn't release it...dont really plan on releasing it, its more for PERSONAL use, but he did ask, so i posted a pic in reply

wow, way to be respectful to the people who make all your favourite models. I'm sure everyone likes to hear that if they make a model it will be modified and redistributed whether they like it or not.
And as for this actual post, I got nothing against you whoever made this conversion, as long as it stays for personal use. The problem with it is usually when a post like this is made, and an argument DOESN'T erupt, we end up with posts like "oh release it and make a download!"... and usually the converter does just that. So I got no gripes with you, as long as that model stays on your HD (not that it's my model, but you get the picture)

I don't know about anybody else, but it doesn't look right to me. Does it really do much to break up the wearer's profile? Would a sniper have to wear stuff he picked up in an alley, like plastic bags, old soda cans, maybe an old bicycle, to blend in like guys who wear bushes in the wild?
The reskin superty made doesn't look much like it, but then he might have a different source with more recent references. It does look terribly pixelated.
Then again, I'm highly partial to the BDU's in AL|ENS, so don't mind my opinions on that much.
For the amount of work Brig put in to his contributions and the requests he's made to not have his stuff redistributed, I'd recommend respecting his wishes, but who listens to me?
I've seen other mod artists make the same requests and get royally crapped on, as if they owed everybody something. Ls3 of the DoD community, for example, to me, was an extremely sore loss. I still think his K98's were the best. I can't blame him for having a rotten attitude after seeing how his contributions got abused, like I can't blame Brig for stepping out of here, though.
The Camo is actually made of pixels...not as big as my skin shows..because I can't skin. Look at SRT Rabb's for a better idea. And for those non believers, I am a UNITED STATES MARINE, and I can attest that this pattern, although pixelated and blocky, can break up outlines and is far superior to the 4 color woodlands. They call them digital because they were designed on a computer.
And someone correct me if I'm wrong the Corps got the idea from CADPAT...?
