very cool, but from one editor to another, here's some suggestions:

I like the 'hollow' spacey sound of it, but the 'wind' (woooooooooosh) is far to loud, and the metallic sounding howl in the backround should be brought up a tad add some creaking sounds like the space station 'settling' (think of your house making noises at night) and it would be alot cooler.

What program do you use? I use Sonar 2.0, its primarily a radio production tool (i'm a mass communications major) but it works well for these sorts of things.

Thanks for the feedback, but did you try the whole pack? There's much more in there. The default atmospheric.mp3 is what you describe. I wanted to try something different. Check my scaryambience.mp3 for some creepy metallic clanks.

Mostly GoldWave and Audacity (for the reverb engine). I just checked out Sonar 2.0, and it seems powerful but a bit expensive...

    Anyway, thanks!

That's really pro work for the most part, but there are enough originals which I prefer over yours that I shant switch over right now. One that sticks out is your engagelev; the door beep from Star Trek TNG mixed with an overused canned door sound = no-no :)

    Good stuff overall, however.

Yeah, that's fair. That sound is my version for the infamous lift from marine start in Bast. I haven't redone that one in over a year, so it could use revision. Still, Bast isn't even in the game anymore (thought I hope the remake project goes well so it can return soon).

    Thanks!

The general idea for this pack is ambience that stays out of the way of the game. Something that lets you perform while still preserving the believeability of NS's maps. I also wanted my version to conform with any kind of theme, whether it's default Kharaa vs TSA, Aliens vs Marines, or Zerg vs Terrans.

Soon I want to get the attention of the mapping forum and see if any mappers are interested in using these sounds.

Just as brig wolf makes the best models imo, you make the best sounds for NS. Will be looking forward 4.0. Keep up the quality work <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

To answer: I didn't DL the whole pack just yet. I'm headed for bed soon, I'll check it out tommorow, however. I'm glad to see some custom sounds on this board.

Thanks for all the feedback. I'll continue tinkering with this pack little by little.

I plan on having another release when 3.0 goes out of beta.
