Forest Textures

I need Forest textures, because I may start working on a semi-open air map.

The area is a forest with a human settlement and possibly a few other buildings. The Lerk-JP problem is solved by a canopy that you can't go through, and you will need a little bit of skill because trees may be pretty dense in some areas.

Anyone know where I can find textures? And, maybe models?

I am working with a similar concept, and am putting together some textures, but they are not finished as of yet, I was also thinking about solving the lerk problem by introducing some backstory, where the planet has a low atmosphere or a cloud of invisible gas exists that is poisonous to organic life, and then putting a brush that did dmg on the ceiling.

The low atmosphere would work similarly to helicopters that try to fly in the mountains, having a maximum elevation they can reach.

    take a look at <a href='http://www.planethalflife.com/wadfather' target='_blank'>http://www.planethalflife.com/wadfather</a>

or maybe check the wad files comming with DOD?

I checked Wadfather, and found some bark textures and some textures of trees in the distance, but I need textures of leaves for the canopy and, well, the leaves.

Edit: And I don't have any DOD wadfiles. Maybe someone could send them to me?

When using DOD textures for NS, remember to ask the DOD development team for permission...

Hmmm. Probably best that you don't use DoD textures - I really can't see them giving you permission to use them <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Well, considering I don't even <i>have</i> DoD textures, its not a problem.

    What is a problem is still my lack of textures <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Any Valve Supported MOD's content are allowed to be used in any other MOD for HL, non proffitly I'd suppose.

Well, maybe someone could send me the DoD .wads, because I don't think the STEAm versions of games come with the .wad files.

Don't bother with a backstory, they just sound rediculous most of the time. 'invisible cloud of poison gas' in point, something that kills lerks but not the trees and is very low but doesn't ever touch the ground? It doesn't have to make sense, players won't ponder why they can't rise above the skybox. Sorry for going OT.

Um... there isn't really a back story. Its just a planet with a forest.

Which I can't find textures for. I would just let them hit the skybox, but I don't have any textures to slap on my trees.

Another problem with open-air is that skulks can climb the skybox...

Learn something every day I suppose. Are you the same JediYoshi from GHOST Ops? (I'm guessing only one person would have that name <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo--> )

Thats another reason I want to have a canopy. Skulks can climb on it, but the treese go up to it, so its basically the same as walking on the ground.
