Heh, that might explain why I manage to bite marines from far away. When attacking a rine from behind I tend to jump and try to bite him in the back, maybe I'm hitting the JP hitbox.
Its the unused Hunchback model. Leave him alone, hes sensitive about it <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->
increases alien's ability to hit the marine from behind - and that's a good thing. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
i remember reading something somewhere that there is now JP Marine model..... and its just a model placed ontop of a model... so therefore this hitbox would make sense

Actually, the JP Marine is just the high-quality version of the standard Marine model. Which is why if you turn on 'high quality', everyone looks to have a jetpack, even if they don't. :b Hopefully it'll be changed to a seperate model as HA is, sooner or later.
I had a game where everyone had JPs, and it had only been like a minute or so, in 1.04 I believe...I kept asking people where they got their JPs and they kept calling me an idiot...sigh
Anyway it's not like the size of the marine hitbox matters, even if that hitbox was real.
I don't know modelling, but I believe hitboxes are processed on the server side, so if you did create your own hitboxes, the only way to use them would be to have a server use them, which would affect everyone on that server. This would mean the exact timing and leaps and such of skulks would need to be relearned over a period of time, and the spent on that server learning those hitboxes would actually hurt your gameplay on normal servers, so IMHO it seems kind of pointless unless you're going to be writing your own separate mod.

I am still talking in general. If I have a model, and I have a hitbox shown in modelviewer, then I run that model on the server, will I have hitboxes exact like the ones shown in modelviewer? And if not, why?
I think the hitboxes of the onos are WAY too big <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::onos::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tiny.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tiny.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Have you seen the onos hitbox in model viewer? if they were a true representation you could kill an onos simply by shooting 3 feet above his head.
Aww, now I want the elusive hunchback model...
Hopefully it'll be changed to a seperate model as HA is, sooner or later.

Unless it's just unusually large...
If thats not a real hitbox then how can I check a real hitbox? And even more important... how can I make one?
never got that part of modeling 100%
