<div class="IPBDescription">No screenies yet, just story and stuff.</div>
Well, I started mapping this room, it looks cool so I am going to continue making the map, building off of this room. I may have some screenies later tonight or sometime this weekend <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo--> but who knows <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo--> .
Here's and entertaining story about some aspects of the map, and how it became infested and what has brought you, the Frontiersman or the Khara to this top secret base in the middle of no where.
The Osiris base is an electronic and software research and development facility. It is use to make improvements to currently existing nano technology, programs, and other electrical systems. The base resides on a planet not commonly traveled to in order to assist in keeping its location secret as the leaders of the base are attempting to keep it low profile.
Key locations, which will be featured in the map, include the Power Capacitor Zone, the Nanite Development Zone, the Water Filtration and Supply Zone, the Engineering Zone, and the Shipping and Recieving area. Each area is vital to the everyday functions of the base.
The Power Capacitor is the main source of power in the base. The power from the Engineering Zone is sent to this large capacitor and is stored for later or immediate use. There are two auxilary plug ins that connect directly with the capacitor and are used commonly to recharge certain machines. One can be found on either side of the capacitor. (Double Node)
The Nanite Development Zone is the area where the new nano machines are created. This area is second in line to recieve power supplied by the power capacitor. This zone is mostly the entire purpose of this facility. (Hive Room)
The Water and Filtration Supply Zone is the area where the natural water source of the planet that the base is located next to is redirected, filtered and sanitized, and is stored for use on demand. This area is vital to the Osiris base faculty, as it provides a consistent and clean source of water.
The Engineering Zone is where the power reactor and other large scale machines are located. This is the life blood of the base. It supplies power to the capacitor and to other large scale functions of the base.
The Shipping and recieving area is where prototype products are shipped out, and supplies are recieved. This is one of two entrances into the facility.
An alarm was triggered by the water filters, warning of foriegn microbes in the water. The sanitization process was started and all was thought to be well. However, a few days afterwards, large clumps of bacteria were seen forming in the water. Almost immediatly after that, the faculty began to die of an infection of an unknown bacteria.
The faculty then stopped drinking the water, and injected themselves with one of their projects, a bacteria destroying nanomachine, and sent out a distress call.
It was unknown what would happen now. The faculty became nervous. Were the nanomachines going to work? Would they also die of this strange infection? What were those clumps of bacteria growing in the water filtration zone?
The water filtration zone also supplies the water used for cooling down the engineering zone, and it was soon found to be growing in there as well. The bacteria seemed to be attracted to the power from the reactor and it quickly covered the power conduits and the reactor itself. Seeing this, the scientist quickly went to the Power capacitor and used the last of the anti-bacterial nanites in that room on the various systems in hopes to keep it from spreading to this area as well.
The scientist who died of the infection did so while in the Nanite Development Zone and upon inspection, bacteria growth was found here as well. The faculty became even more anxious and fearful of what was happening around them.
They sent another distress call, and were told that help was a few days away from them.
The day before the rescure team was suppose to arrive, another distress was sent. Alien lifeforms were spotted, and they are attacking the faculty. They have already killed most of the faculty, only a few remain. They have barracaded the door into the communications room, but are unsure how long it will last.
Over the comm, stomping is heard, and a loud, ferousious roar is heard followed by tremendous pounding. The last thing heard is the screams of the remaining faculty as they are ripped to pieces by a large lifeform, then static.
Hearing this, you are now worried as to what is waiting for you as you approach the facility, and are to arrive in a day.
What will you do when tomorrow arrives?

FYI: Dynamic lighting works by generating two lightmaps, which are as the name implies a mathematical schematic of the lighting. Basically having a dynamic light uses as much room as building that room once for each possible lighting scheme in the map. For ns there just isn't much room to do this, and it won't do much in combat (where there might be room) since the hive is prebuilt. It also isn't possible to make something that can be repeatedly welded. (which would make a seperate, breakable/weldable power generator possible that could be another area to fight over in a combat map)
And I have run into leak of doom trying to compile the power capacitor room so I could show everyone my perdy room. My brain hurts now trying to find ti so i must stop lol. Ill pick it up later tonight probably.
*shivers*
like a small room with a couple body parts a half broken door and a flickering light i know that would freak me out

No body parts or blood splatters then, as that is against guidelines. Or, you could include it if you wanted but don't expect it to go official. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
