<div class="IPBDescription">its always m</div> I downloaded NS (Beta 3) for the first time cuz I really wanted to try it out. All the servers that I try it either says that my map differs from the servers or My.dll[cl_dlls\client.dll differs from the servers. If anyone could help me out here so i can play i would be really appreciative.

    Lets get to the source of you problem.
    1.Are you playing through steam?
    2.What servers did you try?
    3.Do you have the maps already installed, if they we're custom maps?

    I get that too sometimes, it's my notice that a new beta has been released. Make sure you're running the most recent from <a href='http://www.natural-selection.org' target='_blank'>the Main Page</a>. Also, you could be running a more recent version than the server, ie you have 3.03, they are running 3.02.

    i clicked on about 30 random servers.
    Yes it is through steam.
    Yes, I checked the maps file and they are all there.

    If that's all you installed, then you only have beta 1. You need to download and install the beta 3 update.

    Make sure you have the following:
    The beta one installer
    The beta three patcher.

    Install beta one, then run the beta three patcher, but EXTRACT it to a different directory, then manually over write all the files. This solved it for me, because all the patchers I downloaded were faulty.

    BTW I had this exact same error and the reason I had it was because of faulty patchers, not because I did not have the latest version, so before you waste your time reinstalling NS and all that, try this.

    I do not believe beta 2 is needed to update to beta 3, as it would not have been removed from the downloads page if that were the case.

    I am not sure I understand your question, but the 3.0 beta 1 client installer and the 3.0 beta 3 patch are both in the downloads section, and the 3.0 beta 3 patch is listed as "3.0 beta 3 (requires beta 1 client)."

    btw cll.dll is the main file that hl uses to run games, so if u edit that in anyway, u cannot join any servers at all, altho u can edit your game and totally **** it up, so dont mess with it.

    oh god, not again... check out the tech support forums, there's about 10000000000+ threads about exactly this problem there.

    Since i already did this about 10x there, let's do it again:
    to play online right now:

    Install steam
    Run Half life
    Install ns b1
    Install ns b2 (not for sure, i know it works when you <b>do</b> install this one.)
    Install ns b3
