It seems to me that the fade <!--emo&::fade::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/fade.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='fade.gif' /><!--endemo--> is not from the same specie of the other aliens, see my points:
1st- the fade is the only alien who doest use is mouth has a weapon (altogh the onos almost doest use it too but he has one atack that uses his mouth to eat marine)
2nd- The fade is the only alien that walks in only 2 legs (the rest of them use the 4 legs to walk)
3rd- He is the only one that has a ability to heal im self (altough this poit cant be much of a count, i wanted to mention it)
4th- and most important- look at the aliens color (yellow dark-orange) look at the alien structures (also yellow, brown orange) but the fade no, he is BLACK, a completely contrast comparing to the other aliens.

The fade is actually a place holder for a secret alien Fly and devs have made but not released until NS goes to HL2!!111oneoneoneeleven!!11

Your first, second, and third points are inconsequential, as you could just as easily make similar statements about many other abilities or characteristics of other species.
Your fourth point is somewhat more plausible; it is true that the color of the Fade differs from that of the other species. But look at the Onos. Its dark red color is certainly not a characteristic shared by other species. The Lerk, too, aside from its pink wings, has a unique grey color. Though most of the alien creatures and structures share a brownish color, it can hardly be said that it is shared by all but the Fade.
