Fades Do Not Need Adrenaline Now.

Topic says it all. I stopped using Adrenaline in 2.1 and switched to Celerity to make my fade a more powerful melee fighter. The second benefit of having blink speed increased is also a powerful upgrade. Now that metabolize also stacks with regen and includes a MC-like effect to it, there is no good reason that a fade should depend on Adrenaline. At this point, I'm completely convinced that a fade who insists on playing with Adrenaline doesn't know how to use blink efficiently to attack/retreat, because I choose practically every upgrade (in combat and in regular) before I choose Adrenaline.
I'm sure its been covered before, but jumping then tapping the blink key to get a little jolt of speed (while killing the ground friction) is exactly how to move/attack. I think many Fade players aren't using fastswitch so they have to clumsly choose their blink out of the crappy weapon menu, then enable it, then they hold it down as they fly away. This method is just crap.
My upgrade path for CO now is always:
1) Focus
2) Unlock next ability
3) Celerity
4) Regen
5) Carapace
6-9) Fade
10) Scent of Fear
I'm still playing around with the order in which I gain new abilities, but I think this one is rather efficient. The new fade (coupled with these upgrades) gives me plenty of killing power to the point where I'm not frightened by HA any longer. I simply treat them as a LA that needs a few extra hits to bring down. With proper blink usage and plain old practice, a Fade should never (or rarely) die. Knowing the ambient noises of the weapons should tell you exactly when X amount of HMG's are focused on you and leaving the area becomes a priority. Scent of Fear gives you a perfect idea of when to move around the corner to assassinate (I <3 Focus) the cocky LA who think their HMG is good enough to kill you.
Any proponent of Adrenaline care to make a case given the 3.0B2 changes?

My combat set up for going fade
--------------
(1)focus
(2-5)fade
(6)metabolize
(7)carapace
(8)regen/silence
(9)celerity/acid rocket
---------------
I like to get to fade before i get all my upgrades because most mariens cant handle a fade this early in the game coulpled with focus u can kill everything. I get metabolize because it a good move to use after u ran away instead of running away and waiting for regen, and plus you get your energy back after you blinked.I also relized how much long I last with carapace by my side. Now its a toss up between regen and silence, ill get silence if were rushing because there is always that one rine that manges to get away and assult the hive, and that it helps if your blinking because who does love going really fast silently, and ill get regen in any other situation. And i dont know which to get i would like any positve commets on the last choice or anything you think I should change.

at the risk of sounding like a newbie (well, i sorta am...) how do you do fastswitch?
Bind a convenient key to lastinv (go to the console and type in "bind <key> lastinv"), then take out one weapon that you want to use (blink for example), then the other one (swipe for example). Now you can push that one key to switch between the two weapons. You might also need to set hud_fastswitch 1 for this to work (which you should do as soon as you are familiar with the weapons regardless of whether you use lastinv).
regen
celerity
carapace
focus
fade
adren
adrenaline gives you more versatility and control
cloak and sof are less useful in combat
in conclusion, 3 mc upgrades for the win
Cloaking + Focus in the ealry game are lethal. Stealth into thier base and camp. You will get atleast 2-5 kills before the kill you. Less so when they get lvl 2 armour, MT and scan area.
Thats right, scent of fear isn't as useful as adrenaline for a fade in combat. Is that really that humorous?
it is, because SoF pwns adren in COMBAT at least. I never take adrenaline anyways, not as any lifeform, not in classic, not in combat.
Not even for a lerk? Don't sell yourself short, man, umbraspam is the shizzle
*note to self: Figure out how the quote option works*
I'm still stuck between using silence and SOF as my last upgrade in combat: SOF is good as it lets me know how many marines are in an area, but generally I'm good enough at evading that it's not normally an issue. Silence is very nice as not only does it extremely disorientate marines when a silenced celerity fade flies into them from behind and swipes them, but I personally find that the noises of blinking and meta distract me from gunfire, nade bounces, etc.
