Level 1 Upgrade Co

I gues its fair to say that people who join late have it really hard. Most players will have higher levels so it seems that u basicly cant do anything about.

My suggestion is that when the round start or sombody joins, that he/she gets a free level up point. I know that this can cause ballance issues like able to get jp or ha sooner and things like that. But imo it would be better for newcomers and people who are not that good.

Any thoughts or flames?

i know that the easiest way to get exp after joining late is staying at the back of people who are at a higher level. But imo its no fun to play that passive to be able to level up.

Bleh honestly guys, just leech the XP from all those high lvl players running around. Instead of getting a set of well balanced upgrades, just get all the offensive ones as you will have safety in numbers. If everyone is lvl 10, then you honestly shouldn't take longer than a minute to get up to lvl 6, more than enough for something powerful enough to keep up for the rest of the game.

If I join a game that has already gone on for some time (others are > lvl 6) I just avoid going into front line, but stick close enough to get the experience. Once I get a few levels (and upgrade weapons as marines, other upgrades as aliens) I can possibly take higher level enemies with the help of my friends.

A simple solution would be making the new player have a level equal of the server's average player level - 1, which means, if everyone on the server is lvl 4, the newcomer starts at lvl 3 and gets 2 skill points to spend. (that was just an example)

Or give players more bonus XP for killing an enemy of a higher level than him.

    This already exists.

Well imo, being able to leach is a part of ns-skill also.
Just learn to deal with joining late, besides, low-level marines and aliens
can make themselves very usefull for the team.
