<div class="IPBDescription">damn took all day >_<</div> yeah another pic,, hey i havent slept at all yet, been up all night ,, mostly cus of that nancy pic but i also did this,, i didnt do the guts cus after i did the muscles i cbf,, the muscles toook ages and i need a hell of alot of references of muscle structures to get a realistic combination.. same as the skeleton.
edit: als i may add to explain the holes in the muscles in some areas, they are where the tube thingys go in and out, to me theyre like external osophagus thus i didnt really put them in as a muscle.

Not exactly the pretiest sight, but definately another well done pic :O
That looks like it came from a Science text book!
But .. I always thought that the inside of a skulk would be totally foreign.. alien even. That looks like something that could have evolved here on earth.
But you can't argue with the quality of the picture. Outstanding, excellent and superb are words that come into mind.

Do I sense a market for skulkburgers? <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Uh...that's red meat. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo-->
PS- Shouldn't there be bones and muscles in the tail too?
Also the bones are too thick to be able to splinter into tinier pieces (old manual stated so)
But of course, I'm too much of an NS freak <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Overall I'd say it is very superb, though it does go against some rules of NS <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
PS : Those external oesophaguses aren't necessarily oesophaguses. They need little space for organs but they also need to be efficient enough to support a body.
You could say that the veins could be a type of 'intestine' which like our small intestine, gathers raw materials and returns them back for energy production. Not to mention the lack of a stomach (hey they're built for Nano-gridlocks, not for eating!! Maybe except that Onos that's standing behind me....)
But then it's just me.
One comment though: The muscles should be greenish or yellow if you want to be biologically accurate. Our muscles are coloured red because our blood is red (due to iron in the blood cells). Kharaa blood is green/yellow, so [fill in the blank].
I'd also say that the hind legs would need a stronger hip. I'm not sure those legs would be able to handle the mobility, and I assume the hind legs are used for leaping as well.

Not necessarily. It's just the ribs and if they are composed by fiber mostly, it would easily shatter. They wouldn't offer much protection against blunt force though, which is what the ribs are intended for.

I don't think that is a tail. Look at the rendered model.

If you look at the hind legs of the skulk, then the hind leg muscles of a horse, youll understand. I used the same anatomic muscles of the back legs of horses for the skulk. and you should know a horses back legs are very strong for jumping over extremely high obstacles.

true but its easier doing red muscles, i can easily change it to green with saturation etc. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->

ever seen a whale been blown up ?? there was a beached dead whale in australia SA region a few years back, they wanted to get rid of it because people kept goign to it and standing on it and getting pics of it.. stupidly they decided to blow it up.. now the whale does have some bloody thick and big bones. so they blew it up, from the inside (more or less like skulks xeno),, guess what.. it blew up allright. chunks went everywhere for 100 meters diamater.. well everyone got their share of fresh blown up whale eh? as for the bones... they did splinter.. bones may be thick but remember the marrow is still soft on the inside of the bone, so its not all thick..
Still, the shockwave from the explosion should be enough to take care of the bones. The view from the inside won't be pretty, but it will get the job done. Ribs are not that tough. Never underestimate the power of extreme changes to internal pressure. A skull can literally explode (now there's a nice mental picture) if you shoot a fast projectile through it, and a skull is a lot stronger than ribs.
About the hips, it's not just a matter of moving and jumping, it is also a matter of falling. It might work, but I'm not sure how well. I can tell you a horse is not designed to fall from any greater heights.
maybe we'll see all of them done ? <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Well a skulk is an alien, therefore it is close to impossible to define how their muscles work.
They could be those like a cats though....but I'm not so sure on that because of leap....skulks leap at like 5x their base-speed in the back-story, meaning there must be some alienish way for it to create such a high concentration of energy in the hind legs without it exploding or bursting like a ballon :O
are u a skulk? no so u cant comment on how a skulks anatomy is supposed to be!
Are you a skulk? No? So you can't comment on how a skulk's anatomy is *not* supposed to be. The difference is that following the pattern we already know exist is generally more accurate than saying that it works because it's alien. These pictures were obviously based on terran creatures, hence that is the viewpoint you argue from.
Still, we're really starting to hijack this thread, and I don't want to do that. It might not be 100% biologically accurate, but I'd still kill to be able to draw like that.
you know the filter is there for a reason dont abuse it.
