<div class="IPBDescription">The terrifying lows,the dizzying highs..</div> ..the creamy middles!
ahhh, the commander, the one class that probably goes through the most emotions during a game... or even a series of games. you know, you just had 2 or more victories in a row, you are just cruising in happy land, or what i refer to as <span style='color:yellow'>COMM HIGH</span>.
but then the next day, you get in the cc, and can't do anything right. pain all around. rines not listening, strats not working out, aliens getting 3 hives by 10 minutes... this often pushes many commes into <span style='color:orange'>COMMOPHOBIA</span>. ahh, yes. commophobia, who hasn't had a nice bout of this? nothing but the most vet team can push a commander to take the chair of pain after a strong bout of commophobia <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->
so then you do take the cc, renewed vigor to plan like Sun Tzu, strategize like Patton. but... then, for some reason, the rines won't listen!! they demand weapons before going anywhere!! anger.. rising, till you get that wonderful emotion called <span style='color:red'>COMMRAGE</span>. the state in which yelling and berating is required to get the men to their waypoints. almost every server admin is goes pretty easy on a commander who has been pushed into COMMRAGE!! and it can be surprisingly effective, especially when your entire team is ramboing. and seem to have clan tags on.. but.. not NS clan tags.. :O (JK!)
any other comm emotions you commanders have gone through? i go through that entire cycle pretty frequently, myself <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Comments
5 minutes later...
"Comm, you haven't given me anything I asked for, THIS GAME SUX0R OMG H4X!!!!!!11ONE"
I call it...repressed 1337 rage syndrome.
You've commed 5 straight games, the first two of which were close. The 3 after, all the regulars on the pub refuse to go aliens anymire (so long as you go comm again). You start issuing orders in a bored voice, marines seem to win every encounter, and the score comes to like 3:1 or 2:1 K:D rine:alien. You drone on, the marines listen to you without you even really having to do things.
If you play a feel more games, you kinda feel unncessary, as all you do is press buttons and click locations, dropping things where and when needed.
Then you go aliens, and all of a sudden the game is fun again =p.
(SkillStackage is a serious problem on pubs though x_X)
mahaha

Yea because being a griefer is SO cool.
Not that I do it all the time, but when you have a team of those bitchy sounding idiots that take the game THIS seriously, how can you NOT??
M1: OK
M2: OK
M3-M6: Just sit there
M7-M9: Go ramboing
We lose the game. "OMG our comm sucked"
*sigh*
I don't really comm though, but I'll usually swear at those jerks because I remember how annoying it was when I gave it a shot.
all they do is drop medpacks and shotguns anyways
mahaha <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
that'll get you banned on pretty much every NS server i can think of.
warning: <span style='color:orange'>COMMOPHOBIA</span> may result from this emotion
another common one would be <span style='color:red'>YOUALLSUCOMM</span>, closely related to <span style='color:red'>COMMRAGE</span>, however there are differences: he'll yell at you like normal, but eventually, he might start putting everyone in groups 1-5 repeatedly, or he might just not drop anything, recycle all your res towers and adv. armory, then he'll f4 saying the team sucked and i was comm so i should have won, as with <span style='color:blue'>YOUALLSUCKIWILLWINITMYSELF</span>, <span style='color:orange'>COMMOPHOBIA</span> may result.
Then the alien team has fun spamming OCs in the defenseless base.
The opposite of this being the <span style='color:red'>SQUAD 5</span> syndrome , when the marine team is unexpectedly skill stacked , the whole marine team goes to a single waypoint and sieges the hive within 1 minute. Ping of death , gg aliens thx for trying.
Also , when the <span style='color:red'>COMMRAGE</span> lasts for too long , the exhausted , harassed comm tends to work against his team - not game-ending griefing , just slightly noticeable betrayal. He puts waypoints on WoLs , tells the few remaining HAs to go in onos infested areas , and watches the skulks parasite kill the rebelious marines. In earlier version , it came to the point of dropping TFs on marines to make the skulk's job easier. The comm's vengeance is always to be feared , especially on maps with doors and lifts... poor marines can be crushed or stuck in lifts until skulks come chomp them. Worst of all , a curious marine exploring a vent for no reason can be stuck between 2 TFs...
Number 1 of course being the compulsive desire to hump the armoury until it won't give them any more love, including and preferably, when an alien is eating them. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Number 2 the abject fear of going through a PG. "I'm scared of PG's com, please don't make me go" <!--emo&:angry:--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I have fun =D
"OMG PG plz comm"
"WELDER! WELDER! WELDER!"
"Lost double comm. Comm are you there?"
And throughout all that I will be innocently turret spamming a tight corridoor. Good times. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
M1: k
M2: roger
M3: whining at marine start for a IP
M4-M6: takes wrong turn and get killed by skullk brigade
M7: AFK
Result: Aliens know where you are gonna relocate and sends a 7 skullk pack to that spot, so you lose, and then they say:
<span style='color:red'><span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'>COMM YOU SUCKED</span></span>
You are placing structures, giving waypoints, handing out equipment, giving orders. You feel no grief, no joy, no sadness, no rage, no frustration, no adrenaline rush. You simply perform, and perform well.
The marines may win, or they may not. But that does not concern you, because it is a part of the universal balance.
"Though", you mutter to yourself with a small sigh; "they could have nerfed the fade."
This emotion usually arises when your team is willing to cooperate with each other but typically won't reach a waypoint unless it's completely clear of aliens. Every position you try to lock down gets overrun with bile bomb and Onos assault. The area you control on the map doesn't decrease but the locations change every few minutes. Your most useful strategies fall apart quickly and you can't get enough res for a well armed attack. You gain a hive only to find you've lost the other.
Eventually, your "rear end" gets completely numb and all you hear are medpack requests and screams of "COMM WE NEED A WELDER STAT!".
this usually kicks in after playing serveral games and eperiecing comm boredom. it is also very common wen the marines are gettin kicked early games. thisd results in the comm giving out iregular strategies, such as telling the whole marine team to go to the hive and build a tf in it and seige from hive LoS. also causes other pretty stupid tactics such as grenade launcher rushes which generally dont work.
anotehr one
Commsave
This one refers to a type of comm that saves up tons of res and does nothing with it till endgame, aliens are all like "omg we 0wnzorz you, then a 10 man hvy train walks out of base, backed with hmg's, mines, welders and everythign else you could possible think of
Commstrain
This refers to a syndrome related to comm rage where the marines are such two year olds saying things such as "omg comm you suck ****" that you move to do such things as put a protect waypoint on said marine to blind him. also puts strain on reactions to give out tons of weapons to stop teh rine bitching and wen he dies two seconds later tell him to f*** off outta base or blind him also.
Commgrunt
This refers to a comm who drops himself a shotgun and hops back into his chair, if a skulk atacks wen all marines are away he hops out and ices said skulk. also at engame he may jump out the chair to help the rines in a loss situation (i once jumped out and killed an onos,a fade and two skulks wif my shottie all hive 3, damn good times.) this can also be related to sydrones such as alien stakage and serves as an excellent cure for comm strain.
"Proceed to waypoint"
"**** your waypoint comm"
Theres a soundfile in the misc folder that has that, hehe
Then there is the loved <span style='color:green'>COMMTOPIA</span> It's the perfect marine team, you have a rambo or two that will suprise you with a few dead alien RTs or is in the middle of an alien hive requesting a PG. Then the rest of the team stays in assigned groups and do as told, getting RTs and having a pretty decent K:D ratio when they encounter aliens. They will know when to rush the Onos, when to lure a fade, and the right timing for a grenade to get a lerk outta a vent. They know where there's a skulk hiding and will hunt down piggys relentlessly unless it's a trap. This is extremely rare and usually achieved through several games like this.
another state of "comminess" is <span style='color:orange'>COMMCLANSTACK</span> nuff said really.... a clan stack this often leads to <span style='color:green'>COMMBLISS</span>the game pretty much plays its self and u can easily kill BIODOME with some leccyfied TFs
<span style='color:gray'>COMMZEN </span>is nothing you can search for, it is nothing you can find. It will only come to you when you are not searching anymore. Craving it will only distance it from you.

bbut.. I WANT IT!! NEED IT!! CRAVE IT NOOOW!!
ah blunderbugs, this prolly meansi'm not reaching commzen anytime soon is it?
wait a second, if i reach commzen, i'll never again reach the euphoric anger that is COMMRAGE???!?!?
hrm.. interesting...
