    Well, the model comes with a shell, this shell ( or just triangles ) needs to have joints added, vertexs assigned, and animted for use in a mod. As for copywrite, I have seen models ripped fom other games before and released, however, if this is a problem, I guess I will just not release <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Ook, I just had a go at skinning.. May need some help here lol... i can supply the helper with current model and a 8bit skin.. it just needs a bit of fiddly work done to but the right skins peices into the right place...

    Sooner i find someone to help me skin this model sooner i can release, I will TRY and contact Bungie to get their consent.. if i get no responce, then i will release, if i get a negative responce, well, so be it i guess...

    No ****, Sherlock. The point here is: It's the -REAL- Master Chief from Halo. Everyone knows it's ripped, and the thread started said that too, so be gone nubber. I'm not gonna say anything about the copyrights.

    No offense, but doing this might be a bad idea... Then again, we have conversions from AvP and other PC games, so I don't see a difference between those and this situation... but still, doing this... hmm... You making an original skin? You could use the custom Master Chief model's skin and resize/modify it to fit this one, maybe?

    i don't believe Halo1 models ever had bump-mapping. there's only bump mapping on the terrain and buildings i believe.

    Yes. Take a look at the marine's pads in-game if you don't believe me. The scratches are bumped in. as are the ridges on the Grunt's backpack.

    eh they only used a "crackle" look on EVERYTHING in halo except the covanant ships and grass. metal, trees, rocks. seemed repeditive so it dont really seemed like true bumpmapping but rather some script for ligthing angles with a nice crackle filter <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    And Pixel Shading did that as well. All the graininess and stuff on things is Pixel shaders. They're used to make things look more realistic. Especially important to use on skin.

    even planetside has that, as every game does now

    Look closer at the textures to see the bumpmapping. <i>That's</i> what you're supposed to be looking at. Try turning your resolution down temporarily.
