    yes, but thats only if you have 2 hives. If you have two hives you are fine as fade's new meta is a regen/adren in one.

    If you have only one hive you are stuck, and needs DC. Hence DC first is the best option, unless you are going for a focus/cloak rush.

    It's the same as it has always been. If the team knows what they are doing and can adapt their tactics to suit the chamber order, then it doesn't matter which comes first. Go sense first, have skulks ambush near res nodes and keep rine res down. If they have no nodes, they cannot elec the nodes. Go defense first and attack marines head on, use regen to take out res nodes. Go movement first and use celerity to keep everyone moving around the map quickly and keep marines bogged down close to rine start, etc.

    But, if you have a team who have never learnt to play movement or sense first then putting one of those chambers down is unlikely to result in anything successful. Put sense down first with a crap team and they'll all still rush straight into the rine base chomping, and they'll all still save for early fade etc, and they'll lose.

    So, to a good, adaptable, communicating team, the order is irrelevant.

    To a bad team, anything other than DC first will likely lose the match, especially if they immediately have a go at the gorge for being such a noob and prompty get killed while typing. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    The problem with saying that you should use a gorge as a healer when you do not have DC is that the gorge does not follow ANY of the fight styles of the rest of the alien evolves. The gorge is not stealthy like the skulk, they don't have the HP to charge in with the ohnos, and they are not mobile enough to play with the fades and lerks. Gorges are not made to be in combat in any form, they are made to keep behind friendly lines.

    I'm sure most of you guys have great stories of an uber front line battle gorge charging in with the ohnos and paving the way to victory, but that is the exception not the norm.

    Until the Ohnos evolves a saddle or when the gorges can piggy-back a fade, defense chambers will be essinal to the typical pub alien win.

    (hehe piggy-back fade, I need to head over to the suggestion forums <!--emo&::nerdy::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/nerd.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='nerd.gif' /><!--endemo--> )

    The fact is, unless the teams are completely stacked in the marine's favor, marines should not be able to get a 2-hive lockdown, even if all of the aliens are skulks and gorges and there aren't ANY upgrade chambers. This means you can get whichever chamber you want for the first hive, and if it wasn't defense chambers, then you can get those for the second hive. You do need defense by the second hive, because otherwise the higher lifeforms won't be able to take back the third hive guarded by hmg marines, turrets, and electrified tf/rt.

    Marines got a PG up next to the elec Rt in two other hives. We couldn't kill them without regen.

    sieges get set up.

    Sorry, but your team just got outplayed. It was no fault of the chamber you chose. I know, I've been on alien teams where we lose both hives, with different first chambers, and nothing will help you when the enemy is just plain better than you.
