Ns_nancy

I played the new ns_nancy for the first time the other day, so I thought I'd try out the old strategies from 1.04 that I used to use. So I went about securing mess hall and noname (think it's called mother now), getting a couple of phase gates up, fighting over mother interface and teching up to jet packs.

Low and behold, due to nancy's wonderful vent system (which I had to direct my marines around with waypoints) it worked perfectly. It's a great remake as it appeared to play in the exact same way, though it was made slightly easier by the aliens being underpowered at the moment.

Erm, almost forgot the point of this post. if you remember how to play nancy from 1.04, the exact same tactics should be just as effective (apart from welding into the back of subspace as the vent's been made higher now). Jet packs are your friend!

I can attest that on public beta servers jetpacks are almost never my friend, with the exception of the couple of regulars that play there x_x. While I agree that a trained team can turn an extensive vent system against the aliens, it happens well rarely on pubs.

    True star, so true.

Also I already wondered yeh. I could not remember it being called mother. You are so right. It was noname. I liked that name.

    Those vents sooo ruled.

I refuse to call it mother. Itll get confused with mother interface, which is on the other side of the map.

It is and always will be noname.

I prefer noname, but of course now there are lots of new players who never saw the original Nancy, and get dazed and confused when you refer to noname. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Me! Then they didn't have those funky pop-up user-friendly maps (remember the 1.04 "minimaps"?).

yes, mother hive should be renamed noname hive. Its not an option. Its a necessity. Otherwise we would be getting all worked up and confused over mother INTERFACE and moter HIVE, wouldn't we?

and for the sake of us nostalgic people, please please please delete that abominable name and leave it an empty space. Noname hive will always be noname hive. Can't stand all those people defiling one of the most jp-friendly hives of all time.

It's funny, because the OLD players called it mother then it lost it's name in a patch (bug) and new people called it noname. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

The two vent systems are now connected to make one big vent system.

The only differences I have really noticed is that a few of the vent locations appear to be slightly different. I don't know if you can still build outside of the cockpit though, as I haven't tried

A trained team can dominate with anything. NS being a teamwork mod, teamwork usually always wins the day in these games.

It shouldn't be possible, given the number of times people mentioned that problem in the nancy remake thread.
