    Sorry, I have corrected them.

    I want to make the activated gate like the deactivated gate. It doesn't include

    flare, light, and shimmering ground. I think that the related files are

    muzzleflash1,2,3.spr, flare6.spr, nsteleport.spr, b_phasegate.mdl and

    b_phasegate.qc and ref_phasegate.smd

    I'm not sure that this would be a good idea to try and do. 1) the sprites deal, the only thing you could do is make them blank but they would still get loaded. the .smd's and qc file are for the model itself, to make it an mdl (im sure you knew) and wouldn't help make the activated like the deactivated. It would need to be hardcoded, i assume. So sorry, but this seems to be something you'll have to live with. How bad does it throw down your FPS?

    Thomas, <a href='http://www.neoseeker.com/resourcelink.html?rlid=32417&rid=30618' target='_blank'>this</a> is a Half-Life tweak guide I've been using for a while. It might not contain everything that can possibly be done for NS, but it'll probably help you eek out a few more FPS.

    it's not the sprites that are causing problems, can you understand this? It's the lighting that's being cast by the phase gate. Go in the ns options menu, and click advanced in the first tab. UNCHECK dynamic lighting.

    <b>cl_dynamiclights 0</b> which enables the light made by dropping buildings and

    items in Marine disappears. However, this command does not affect the light of

    the phasegate. Recently, I realized that the light with the phasegate has the same

    effect as the flashlight does. Do anyone know any commands making the flashlight

    I run ns with 30-40 fps when doing all the normal stuff. When theres umbra, spores, pg's, guns shooting everywhere (all the particle effects in the game all jammed into ur screen basicly) and skulks whizzing buy across the screen the fps can get very low. Its all those dam particle effects.     Thomas u asked about 'empty' Sprite models

    You wont be able to download these (maybe a grey area), but to make them yourself:

    -find the sprite of the phasegate flair
    -make a new .txt file
    - rename it to the sprite file (e.g. phase.spr)
    -overwrite the old one

    not done this myself,. might not work but i see no reason y it shouldnt

    strange thing is.. i use all custom models and most if not all graphic options turned on and i still get like 40fps most of the time. it drops to like 10-20 in heavy combat... so i really dont understand why your computer cant handle something that simple... oh yeah, im running in 1152x864, openGL...so yeah.. <!--emo&::nerdy::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/nerd.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='nerd.gif' /><!--endemo-->
