I was commanding on ns_veil about 5 minutes ago, and in the end game I decided to research catalyst packs because I had massive amounts of resources left. Once upgraded, however, I was unable to drop catalyst packs.
Here some screenshots:

    This proves that catpacks were researched:

    And this is what it shows when you select catpacks (mouse cursor enlarged, no catpack visible on the cursor, wether red or green highlighted).

    Metamod.

    The server was probably not using the latest version of metamod (its unofficial, but provides support for catpacks)

    Hmm I don't know.
    Maybe someone consult the guys from the cX clan, because it was their server.

    this is turning into a off-topic thread, close please.

    i'd comment more about patching their server but its already a known issue.

    I dont see how this is turning into an OT topic, all I am trying to figure out is wether they have an up to date metamod version or not.
    If you know for sure that they dont, and this problem has occured before, then I apologize, bow down, and do whatever I need to do to please you <img src='http://forum.xwars.gamesurf.tiscali.de/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

    Please leave this thread alone for now until grepdashv or another Exterminator flies by and decides on wether its useful or not.

    Im moving this to beta discussions. If you figure out something foolproof, feel free to reinitiate a thread in bug forum with reproduction methods. I did as described on my local created server and I could not reproduce the bug mentioned.

    Doesn't seem Off-Topic to me, but it does sound like a Metamod problem. I've written Will at Metamod and am hoping they release an official update for 3.0 sometime soon.

    There's <a href='http://www.modns.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=236' target='_blank'>Metamod for NS 3.0</a>

    using this metamod you won't have to add the +localinfo line (when you start ns server)
    and it fixes catpacks.
    and more-- i think..

    edit: it's not official tho <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif' /><!--endemo--> but it's working without any problems.
